In the race for Los Angeles mayor, incumbent Karen Bass and City Councilmember Nithya Raman will face each other in the Nov. 3 runoff.

With 98.5% of the expected vote counted, reality television personality Spencer Pratt, who was in second place on election night, saw his votes fall to third as mail-in ballots were counted.

This story is based on an updated snapshot of precinct-level results provided by the L.A. County registrar Wednesday. The county previously shared detailed preliminary results June 3, saying finalized data would be made available June 26.

“We just updated again this morning, given the high number of requests and continued interest,” said Michael Sanchez, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder’s office.

This story is based on a Times analysis of the roughly 850,000 ballots processed so far.

This map shows the margin and density of votes by precinct. Areas where a candidate leads by a wide margin, such as East Hollywood for Raman, appear darker on the map. More densely populated neighborhoods — such as Bass strongholds in Baldwin Hills and Crenshaw — appear in brighter colors. As of Wednesday, an estimated 23,000 ballots were yet to be counted countywide, according to L.A. County officials.

Bass swept in precincts across South L.A., continuing her electoral success in those neighborhoods from the 2022 primary campaign. Throughout the city, she won 63 neighborhoods, including Lake Balboa, Pacoima and Van Nuys. Bass also garnered support from Latino neighborhoods such as San Pedro and West Adams.

Pratt saw heavy support from his neighbors in the Pacific Palisades, as well precincts from the San Fernando Valley to Bel-Air and Brentwood. He also took the lead in scattered pockets around the city, such as Harbor City and Shadow Hills.

Raman, who represents Los Feliz, Hollywood Hills, Sherman Oaks and Encino on the City Council, won over at least 38% of her home District 4. At least 14 precincts out of 60 in her district, mainly in East Hollywood, swung heavily for Pratt.

Raman also did well in predominantly Asian neighborhoods such as Chinatown, Palms and Sawtelle. Voters in the neighborhoods of North Hollywood and Hollywood also cast their ballots in favor of the challenger Raman over the incumbent mayor.
