James Middleton and wife Alizee Thevenet were full of jubilation on Wednesday as they marked the businessman’s 39th birthday.
To celebrate the occasion, the pair hiked up a mountain, with James revealing that they had been joined by their pack of dogs. As the couple reached the summit, the 39-year-old was seen embracing his wife, who he married in 2021, and kissing the side of her face.
James looked strapping in the images he shared, with the businessman seen rocking a blue flat cap, a white patterned shirt and a pair of shorts. Meanwhile, Alizee looked gorgeous in a yellow knitted jumper and brown overcoat, alongside a pair of skinny jeans.
In a poignant caption, James wrote: “Today’s my birthday and every year feels like a bigger climb but reaching the top and seeing how far you’ve come never gets old. Entering the final year of my 30s and more excited than ever…”

Pair’s love of exercise
Although the couple live in a Berkshire farmhouse, the pair love the great outdoors, and are often seen cycling, running or hiking.
Their shared passion for the outside world even helps the couples when it comes to arguments. In a recent interview with Country Life, James revealed how one of the couple’s first dates was going out for a run, and how they make sure to go out once a week for one in “matching trainers”.
He explained: “It’s our shared ritual, a way to reconnect and, if we’ve had an argument, a run together usually sets everything straight by the time we get back home.”
James first met Alizée in 2018 at a private member’s club in London. “If that moment hadn’t been seized, I wouldn’t have met my wife, I wouldn’t have my beautiful son,” James told HELLO! about his chance first meeting with his future wife in an exclusive interview in December 2025.
