Kate Middleton’s quiet Prada obsession would seriously impress Miranda Priestly

Kate Middleton’s quiet Prada obsession would seriously impress Miranda Priestly

There are just four days to go until The Devil Wears Prada 2 lands in UK cinemas, and excitement is mounting for the hugely anticipated sequel.

We are still reeling from last week’s star-studded European premiere, which saw Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, Meryl Streep, and Stanley Tucci light up the red carpet in their fashionable finery.

The film depicts the wonderful world of fashion journalism, and as the title suggests, the iconic Italian brand Prada is heavily featured throughout. It got us thinking – as one of the most famous millennials who would have remembered the original film, the Princess of Wales has a fabulous collection of Prada ensembles.

We delve into the mother of Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis’ best-known Prada moments, and it’s safe to say, the character of fierce fashion editor Miranda Priestly would approve. That’s all.

Also in 2017, Kate donned perhaps her highest heels to date as she stepped out to attend a reception at Claerchens Ballhaus, the last original dancehall in Berlin, on the second day of her and Prince William’s visit to Germany. The royal was seen sporting scalloped suede sandals by Prada with a Markus Lupfer printed midi dress.

The gladiator-style shoe featured three straps that climbed up the foot and ankle, and a four-inch stiletto heel.

In 2025, the royal put a feminine spin on officewear as she paid a visit to the V&A East Storehouse. The brunette royal wowed in a royal blue suit by Alexander McQueen that featured on-trend cigarette pants. She added a glorious pair of Prada stilettos – known as the ‘Suede Pointy Toe Pumps’. These classic shoes are sleek and timeless, and she has re-worn them regularly – notably when she dropped off her daughter, Princess Charlotte, on her first day of school in 2019.
