Adam Thomas is seeking jungle glory on Friday night’s finale of I’m a Celebrity: South Africa. This is the star’s second time in the jungle, after placing third back in 2016. He proved to be such a hit with viewers that three years later, he returned to host the spin-off show, Extra Camp.

Adam hasn’t had the smoothest journey on this new series, having major clashes with fellow campmates David Haye and Jimmy Bullard, but will he be able to beat co-stars Craig Charles, Harry Redknapp and Mo Farah to the crown?

The actor rose to fame when he appeared on Waterloo Road as pupil Donte Charles back in 2006. He appeared in the role for three years, and later re-joined the cast in 2023, returning as the same character. After his stint as Donte, he appeared as Adam Barton in Emmerdale, appearing in nearly 1,000 episodes of the popular ITV soap.

The star also competed on Strictly Come Dancing in its 21st series, where he was paired with Luba Mushtuk. The pair made it to week 7, where they were eliminated after their rumba.

However, Adam isn’t the only famous face in his family, and he no doubt will have the support of his brothers. Scroll down to meet Adam’s family below…

Ryan Thomas

Ryan is best known for his acting work. The 41-year-old first appeared as Jason Grimshaw in ITV soap Coronation Street when he was just 16 in 2000. He played the role for 16 years before finally leaving in 2016.

As well as Coronation Street, the actor has completed other acting work such as appearing in Neighbours and stage shows before retiring from acting in 2021. He also competed on Dancing on Ice back in 2024 with Amani Fancy, and the pair were able to win the show, beating out Miles Nazaire and Adele Roberts in the process, and in 2025, he co-hosted ITV game show 99 to Beat alongside Adam.

Ryan began dating his Corrie co-star Tina O’Brien in 2003 but separated in 2009. The pair share 18-year-old daughter Scarlett. Since then, Ryan has embarked on a relationship with former TOWIE star Lucy Mecklenburgh after meeting on Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls in 2017. The couple got engaged two years later and have welcomed two children together.

Scott Thomas

Adam’s twin brother is Scott Thomas. He may not have had a career in acting, but the 37-year-old has still enjoyed success. The reality star appeared on the second series of ITV dating show Love Island where he and then-girlfriend Kady McDermott came in third place. He returned to the All Stars version of the show in 2025, but he opted to leave on the 18th day.

Famous father Dougie James

The trio’s father Dougie is a singer and was part of 70s band Soul Train that toured with the likes of the Jackson 5 and James Brown in their hey-day.

The brothers and Dougie previously appeared in Absolutely India: Mancs in Mumbai, where they explored their roots. Speaking about their dad joining them for the show, Adam said: “Getting to take him along on this journey with us was very special. It’s pretty much his show, he steals this show from start to finish. So he was finding out about his dad, but we were also finding out about our dad also.”

Scott added: “It was emotional but positive at the same time. We got a lot from it as brothers with our father. It’s made our bond stronger with him even more so.”

Dougie sadly died at the age of 72 on 20 November 2020.
