On your marks, get set… pray! The starting gun for the Premier League run-in will sound this lunchtime at the Emirates, where most of the crowd will be pleading for a stress-free victory over Bournemouth. It’s easy to forget, given all the recent negativity, that Arsenal’s last Premier League game ended with one of the most euphoric moments of the entire season – the joyous celebration of Max Dowman’s clinching goal against Everton.  That game was almost a month ago. During the Premier League’s spring break Arsenal went out of both domestic cup competitions and Manchester City produced arguably their two best performances of the season to beat Arsenal in the Carabao Cup final and thrash Liverpool in the FA Cup. Arsenal’s short-term priority is to keep the title out of Manchester City’s hands. They are nine points ahead clear with seven games to play, though City have a game in a hand. There were two penalties in this game but it was another that was not awarded by referee Stuart Attwell that dominated – a foul on Amad Diallo by the full-back Adrien Truffert that would become the pivotal moment. “Mental,” was how Michael Carrick would later describe the decision not to award that penalty in the 67th minute, and from there all the drama seemed to flow. In the aftermath of the Amad foul, Bournemouth would score immediately, United would retake the lead and then Maguire would thrust himself into the heart of the action. He had very little scope to argue with the red card that Attwell showed him. The United centre-half had found himself in the wrong position to deal with Evanilson’s subtle first touch.
