Macron allies deny Brigitte slapped French president over texts with Iranian actress – POLITICO

Speaking on RTL radio on Wednesday, Tardif alleged that President Macron maintained a “platonic relationship” with Farahani for several months. However, some exchanges — which Tardif said he was forwarded by people close to Macron — “went quite far,” the journalist said. Tardif said one message sent to Farahani said: “I find you very attractive.” Golshifteh Farahani attends the Grand Dîner du Louvre at Musee du Louvre on March 3, 2026 in Paris. | Aurore Marechal/Getty Images The Elysée, which initially called the reports of the slap fake news and later dismissed the incident as “horseplay,” has not given an official response. An individual close to the French president, also granted anonymity to discuss the matter, said Brigitte Macron’s team denies the allegations. President Macron himself said last year the ordeal had been blown out of proportion and he was “joking with [his] wife.” Still, however, the incident attracted much media attention worldwide. Even U.S. President Donald Trump joked about it last month. Farahani has previously shot down rumors of a relationship with Macron but …

Iran allows French ship through Strait of Hormuz

Iran has allowed a French-owned ship through the Strait of Hormuz, a day after Emmanuel Macron mocked Donald Trump and accused the US president of changing his mind “all the time”. The Kribi, a Malta-flagged container ship owned by French logistics company CMA CGM, became the first Western vessel to exit the Persian Gulf since the start of the war with Iran. Tehran has all but shut the strait since the start of the conflict, while letting through some ships from countries such as China, Pakistan and the Philippines. Tracking data showed the Kribi sailing close to Iran’s coastline via a route that appeared to have been approved by Tehran. It is unclear whether the vessel paid a fee. Iran is believed to be running what shipping analysts have called a “toll booth”, charging vessels up to $2m (£1.51m) to pass through the choke point, through which about a fifth of the world’s oil normally transits. The French crossing came hours after Mr Macron launched his sharpest attack yet on Mr Trump after his American …

A Paris Art Dealer Is Found Guilty of Harassing Brigitte Macron

A particularly bizarre strain of conspiracy theory holds that prominent female celebrities, including musicians, athletes, and political figures, are secretly transgender. In a Paris court on Monday, a French art dealer was among 10 people found guilty of online harassment for falsely claiming that France’s First Lady Brigitte Macron was born as a boy named Jean-Michel Trogneux, which is the name of her older brother.  The upset caused by public assertions about her gender led to a “deterioration of her health” and a “deterioration in her quality of life,” her daughter Tiphaine Auzière, a lawyer, told the court, according to the Guardian. Macron is also suing right-wing American podcaster Candace Owens for slander in US court for spreading these claims.  Related Articles Bertrand Scholler, the cofounder of Paris art gallery 55 Bellechasse, was identified as one of the principal defendants due to his sizable social media following. He has more than 108,000 followers on X, where he announced on Tuesday that he would close the account for six months in compliance with an order from …

10 people found guilty of transphobic cyberbullying of Brigitte Macron – POLITICO

According to the ruling by the Paris criminal court, the widespread publishing of these rumors on social media was “likely to cause serious harm to the complainant and those around her.” The court also ordered the suspension of several X accounts for a period of six months. In light of the defendants’ downplaying of the physical and psychological consequences of the cyberharassment, the court also ordered several of them to attend awareness-raising courses on the subject. During a trial last October, Brigitte Macron’s daughter Tiphaine Auzière testified that the conspiracy theories had made it “impossible” for her mother “to have a normal life.” The French president himself has mentioned the impact these allegations have had on the couple’s life. “In everyday life, I have personally been confronted with [cyberbullying], my wife even more so than me. We are completely helpless,” he said in November. Several of the defendants had said during the trial that they had learned about this conspiracy theory via U.S. hard-right influencer Candace Owens and those who had shared her content. Owens …
