Daniel Radcliffe’s Every Brilliant Thing hit $1.6 million on Broadway

Every Brilliant Thing, starring Daniel Radcliffe, continues to climb the box office rankings, bringing in $1.65 million last week, its highest gross yet. The one-person play, which involves a large degree of audience interaction, was the fourth highest grossing show in the industry last week, with the the highest average ticket price at $208.93. The show played to 100 percent capacity. Moulin Rouge! is still seeing elevated grosses thanks to the presence of Megan Thee Stallion in the cast, with the musical bringing in $1.64 million last week, as the fifth highest grossing show in the industry. However, that trend may be short lived as Megan announced Monday that she will be leaving the show early, setting her final performance date for May 1. A replacement performer for the remainder of Megan’s run, from May 2 through May 17, has yet to be announced. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child was the highest grossing show on Broadway last week, bringing in $2.3 million, followed by Hamilton with $1.94 million, and The Lion King with $1.89 million.  …

Industry Grosses Fall Amid Openings, Daniel Radcliffe Cracks Top Five

A number of shows saw their attendance fall last week, as spring break crowds dissipated, and as several productions comped tickets in the lead up to openings. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child was the highest grossing show last week, bringing in $2.4 million at the Lyric Theatre, followed by Hamilton with $1.9 million and The Lion King with $1.8 million. Moulin Rouge! brought in $1.6 million, on the continued strength of Megan Thee Stallion’s run in the musical. Every Brilliant Thing, starring Daniel Radcliffe, also cracked the top five for the first time with $1.5 million and the top average ticket price last week of $198. Last week saw the openings of The Fear of 13, starring Adrien Brody and Tessa Thompson, which opened to mixed reviews, Proof, starring Ayo Edebiri and Don Cheadle, which opened to mixed to positive reviews and Fallen Angels, starring Rose Byrne and Kelli O’Hara, which opened to largely positive reviews. ‘Harry Potter’ Grossed $2.65 Million on Broadway In Latest Week

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child continued its reign as the top-grossing show in the industry last week, as the play brought in $2.65 million.  The show, which currently features Tom Felton from the Harry Potter film series, played to 98 percent capacity with an average ticket price of $207.  Hamilton was the second highest grossing with $2.1 million, followed by Wicked with $1.942 million. Mamma Mia was hot on its heels with $1.941 million, as the musical revival nears the end of its Broadway run at the Winter Garden Theatre. The show is scheduled to play its final performance Feb. 1, before Death of a Salesman, starring Nathan Lane and Laurie Metcalf moves into the space.  Stranger Things: The First Shadow continues to ride the highs from the release of the final season on Netflix. The play brought in $1.74 million at the Marquis Theatre and played to 98 percent capacity. Stranger Things, Harry Potter on Break Box Office Records on Broadway

Stranger Things: The First Shadow, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Ragtime and more broke box office records amid the lucrative holiday week last week.  Stranger Things brought in $2.5 million with 100 percent capacity at the Marquis Theatre and an average ticket price moving up to $173, amid the release of the last season of the Netflix series. Harry Potter grossed $3.7 million, with Tom Felton from the movie series in the cast, and the musical revival of Ragtime continued to build on its momentum with a new record box office tally of $1.6 million.  Wicked regained its position as the box office leader bringing in a massive $4.4 million, followed by The Lion King with $3.9 million, Hamilton with $3.76 million and Harry Potter with $3.71 million. Hamilton had the highest average ticket price of the bunch at $350.  Notably, Stranger Things, Harry Potter, The Lion King and Wicked all had a nine-performance week, rather than the typical eight, which helped boost the tallies. ‘Harry Potter’ Hits Highest Gross Yet With Tom Felton

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is staying atop the industry box office charts, as Tom Felton, who played Draco Malfoy in the film, continues his run in the play.  The play brought in $2.97 million last week, the highest gross the play has brought in since opening at the Lyric Theatre in 2018, as the average ticket price increased $1 from last week to $229. The theater played to 100 percent capacity. This is a major turnaround for the play, which has seen flagging grosses in recent months.  The play was the second highest earner in the industry last week, behind Hamilton, which brought in $3.7 million, with original cast member Leslie Odom Jr. still continuing his run. Wicked was the third highest grossing, bringing in $2.5 million ahead of the release of the film adaptation Wicked: For Good.  Chess was the fourth highest grossing show with $2 million, amid a week of heavily comped press performances, followed by The Lion King with $1.97 million.  On the other side, The Queen of Versailles, starring …
