Meghan Markle brutally savaged for ‘merching her kids’ after UK trip | Royal | News

Meghan Markle was blasted by fans for “merching” her children after their recent trip to the UK. The Duchess of Sussex recently uploaded a series of photos from her family’s summer trip to Europe. Their trips included visits to their Portugal home and Britain, including Princess Diana’s resting place at Althorpe. Fan pages of the Duchess of Sussex have managed to ID her children’s clothes and now another account has shared a new post on social media, boasting about the “Sussex effect” as most of the items appear to be sold out or low in stock online. While the duchess herself has never listed any of her children’s items on her OneOff fashion page, some fans criticised her for “merching” her children online. One user said on X: “That took a hot minute to merch the kids…” Another one agreed: “Merching their kids’ clothes on the way to visit Diana’s grave site. It’s always a new low with those two disasters.” A second one commented: “I wondered why Lily had shoes on, guess she couldn’t …

Japan sizzles in first ‘brutally hot’ days of the year

TOKYO: Japan sizzled under sweltering, life-threatening heat on Wednesday (Jul 22), with temperatures expected to top 40°C in some cities in what the government has newly designated as a “brutally hot day”. The weather agency issued heat stroke alerts for much of the country, forecasting a second straight day of “kokushobi” – literally meaning brutally hot day – with temperatures expected to reach 40°C in Kumagaya, north of Tokyo, and Nagoya, in central Japan. Authorities urged residents to use air conditioning liberally, hydrate regularly and avoid spending long hours outdoors. Japan has experienced increasingly severe summers in recent years, with the country recording its all-time high temperature of 41.8°C last year. Even before this week’s extreme heat, 4,580 people were taken to hospital between Jul 6 and 12, including seven who later died, according to the latest data available from the Fire and Disaster Management Agency. The weather agency this year introduced the “kokushobi” category for days when temperatures reach 40°C or higher, reflecting the growing frequency of extreme heat. More than 100,000 people were …

Princess Eugenie marked Father’s Day with a heartfelt tribute to husband Jack Brooksbank, sharing family photographs celebrating his role as a father to their two sons. The royal posted two images on Instagram featuring Jack with August and Ernest. One photograph showed the trio walking together outdoors, with Jack holding the boys’ hands as they strolled beside a green space. A second image captured Jack keeping one of the children entertained during a wedding ceremony. Seated inside a church, he appeared to be playing with the youngster, who was surrounded by football-themed stickers and a colouring book. Alongside the photographs, Eugenie praised her husband in a message to mark Father’s Day. Her own father, former-Prince Andrew, was notably absent from her post – and social media feed – in recent times. Russia brutally mocks ‘arrogant’ Trump over Iran ‘defeat’ and ‘declining mental state’ | World | News

Russia has brutally mocked “arrogant” Donald Trump and even made a veiled swipe at his “feverish” mental state. The country’s media do not agree with the US President’s claims of “total victory” over Iran, BBC Steve Rosenberg said, analysing the content of Russian newspapers. “Trump has escaped from the trap of his own making. But only the feverish mind of the American himself can consider this a triumphant victory,” one of the newspapers reported. The Russian Editor for the BBC also explained how Russian media believe there is “a mass of political bonuses for Iran”. Referring to the 10-point ceasefire, Moscow-based daily newspaper Moskovsky Komsomolets wrote: “The only thing missing from the list is the demand that the arrogant American leader himself personally come to Tehran, crawl 10km, periodically kissing the bombed asphalt, and then publicly repent.” The Russian government paper Rassiska Gazeta said “the United States saw the limit of its capablities” in Iran. “The US is not omnipotent. Its ability to impose its will in any way is significant but limited. Everyone will …

How to have brutally honest conversations about money with your partner : NPR

The first time Vivian Tu got “financially naked” in front of her partner — a term she uses to describe “brutally honest conversations” about money — it was out of desperation. She was just starting her career on Wall Street and living in a roach-infested apartment in New York City. She had to use her savings to break the lease and move out. So she asked her new boyfriend whether she could temporarily stay at his place. It was an opportunity to get real with him about her financial situation. She told him: “I have no money. I am broke. I have nothing.” That openness ended up strengthening their relationship, she says. Eventually, they got married. Tu is now an entrepreneur who runs Your Rich BFF, a media company that teaches people about their finances. She says it’s critical for couples to talk about money as soon as they can. It’s one of the topics of her latest book, published in February, Well Endowed, which offers advice to young people about making big financial decisions, …
