Melania’s Trump Dior Gown, a Silicon Valley-Heavy Guest List, and Dover Sole: All The Details From Trump’s State Dinner

On Tuesday, President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump hosted King Charles and Queen Camilla for a state dinner at the White House on a cool spring evening in Washington, DC. It was a show of pomp, circumstance, and most of all, power—which, depending on your positioning on the political spectrum, could feel eerie or elegant given the current state of the country. The dress code was white tie—known as the most formal dress code in the United States. The president and king wore tails and white waistcoats. Although Camilla did not wear a tiara, she did wear an amethyst and diamond necklace along with a hot pink gown by London-based designer Fiona Clare. Throughout her trip to the United States, the Queen has reliably chosen British designers in a subtle showing of sartorial support of her homeland. Queen Camilla Wears An Historic Accessory for Royal State Visit to the US

The first frame of Queen Camilla on US soil, landing with King Charles in Maryland for the historic state visit to the United States at the invitation of Donald Trump, featured the very elegant sovereign in pink with a brooch pinned to her overcoat. If royalty has taught us anything, particularly during historic times like these, it’s that jewelry often speaks volumes. Indeed, the heirloom in question tells of the friendship between the two countries, the United Kingdom and the United States, a relationship that this trip is meant to reinforce as we celebrate 250 years of American independence. King Charles and Queen Camilla arrive at Joint Base Andrews, Maryland. HENRY NICHOLLS The journey of King Charles and the Queen consort had been planned for some time, well before relations between the United Kingdom and the United States stiffened due to international tensions, compounded by the assassination attempt on Trump at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. A state visit heralded by Buckingham Palace as “an opportunity to recognize the shared history of our two nations, …

King Charles and Queen Camilla’s highly-anticipated state visit has officially begun. On Monday afternoon, as the royals touched down at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland, they kicked off a four-day trip, hosted by President Donald Trump, that will see the monarchs visit Washington, DC, New York and Virginia, in honor of America’s forthcoming semiquincentennial. So, what’s on the agenda? After receiving a warm welcome upon landing, Charles and Camilla will head out to a private tea with the president and First Lady Melania Trump before going to a garden party. Come Tuesday, King Charles is scheduled to address Congress. It has been decades since a British monarch has done so, the last time being when Charles’s late mother, Queen Elizabeth delivered an address in May 1991, calling for a united front following the end of the Cold War. Royal historian Ed Owens recently told Vanity Fair that the state visit will also serve as an opportunity for King Charles to showcase his role as a mediator and statesman, as the relationship between Britain and America …

Queen Camilla and Melania Trump to Have Private Meeting During State Visit

King Charles will also address Congress, making the second time a British Monarch has addressed a joint meeting, following Queen Elizabeth II’s speech at the Capitol during a state visit in 1991. While some feel that visiting the United States amid tensions between Trump and Starmer, and public interest in Prince Andrew’s role in the Epstein scandal, could pose reputational risk for King Charles, he is said to be “looking forward to the trip,” a source tells Vanity Fair. “There was never any suggestion that the palace would cancel the trip. That would not be their decision to make and besides, the King would never risk causing such offense to a host nation. He and the Queen are excited about carrying out a full program of engagements.” First Lady Melania Trump, President Donald Trump, King Charles III and Queen Camilla during the State visit by the President of the United States of America at Windsor Castle on September 17, 2025 in Windsor, England. How the Royal Family Will Celebrate the Centenary of Queen Elizabeth II’s Birth

How the Royal Family Will Celebrate the Centenary of Queen Elizabeth II’s Birth

This year, Queen Elizabeth II would have turned 100. So, to celebrate the centenary of her birth on April 21, the royal family has prepared a packed program of tributes and festivities. Elizabeth II died on September 8, 2022 at the age of 96, after 70 years of the longest reign in British history. To honor her, three official events will be held in the presence of senior members of the Windsor dynasty, starting with King Charles III. Together with his wife, Queen Camilla and other members of the family, the monarch will visit the British Museum to see the final model of the future Elizabeth II memorial, in the company of British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Lord Janvrin, the Queen’s former Private Secretary. They will meet the artists who imagined the monument, and watch a short film documenting its conception. The memorial will be located in the heart of St. James’s Park, a stone’s throw from Buckingham Palace. Two statues of the Queen and her husband, Prince Philip, will be erected, as will …

Kate Middleton and Prince William Rejoin the Royal Family on Easter

Kate Middleton and Prince William Rejoin the Royal Family on Easter

After two years in which they skipped the royal family’s traditional Easter Sunday services, Kate Middleton, Prince William, and their children have returned to the fold. On Sunday, the Walses joined King Charles III and Queen Camilla at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor, even leading the procession to the church. And this year, the family seemed to coordinate their look, not unlike the couple’s matching fits at the BAFTAs. Kate Middleton, who traditionally opts for shades of blue on Easter, donned an elegant cream ensemble similar to the the long coat she wore to services in 2017. A matching hat, cross necklace, and pearl drop earrings completed the look, complemented by a bag from DeMellier London. Princess Charlotte joined her mother’s neutral palette with a beige wool coat from Catherine Walker, one of Princess Cate’s favorite dressmakers. Royal watchers might recognize the topper, which Charlotte also wore last December to Christmas mass at Sandringham. Beside them stood Prince William and eldest son Prince George, who has grown nearly as tall as his parents. Prince Louis …

‘Occasionally a picture can change the course of history’: 33 scandalous photos that shocked the world

‘Occasionally a picture can change the course of history’: 33 scandalous photos that shocked the world

Words can tell a story, but it’s pictures that will make you believe in it. Such is the power of a photograph; the ability to strip away illusions, to illuminate something hidden, and sometimes force us to accept unpalatable truths. When it comes to scandal, seeing is believing – occasionally even to the point that a picture changes the course of history. How might life have been different for Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor had he not been photographed clutching the midriff of the 17-year-old girl he would later claim he had never met? Without this haunting triptych of the former prince, the late Virginia Giuffre and Jeffrey Epstein’s fixer, Ghislaine Maxwell, hovering in the background, there would have been nothing physical to connect the then prince with a trafficking victim. Though for years Andrew’s friends insisted that the photograph must have been doctored, buried within the Epstein files recently released by the US Department of Justice is a note from Maxwell that appears to confirm it is real. But more often in what follows, the camera simply …

Princess Anne’s Son Peter Phillips to Marry For Second Time this Summer

Princess Anne’s Son Peter Phillips to Marry For Second Time this Summer

Like many of his royal relatives, Phillips married at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle, with a reception at Frogmore House. The Firm turned out in full force for the nuptials, with Queen Elizabeth joining Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie, Prince Harry, Zara Tindall and her then-boyfriend Mike, and a young Kate Middleton. Prince William, though known to be close with his cousin, was unable to attend due to a prior engagement abroad. A dazzling affair indeed (though the cause of some controversy at the time, thanks to Peter and Autumn’s decision to run a 100-page exclusive in Hello!). The pair would go on to welcome two children: Savannah, Queen Elizabeth’s first great-grandchild, in 2010; and Isla Elizabeth, named in the monarch’s honor, in 2012. Phillips and Kelly divorced, however, in 2021, with a statement that read: “Whilst this is a sad day for Peter and Autumn, they continue to put the well-being and upbringing of their wonderful daughters, Savannah and Isla, first and foremost.” A relationship would follow with Lindsay Wallace, a friend of his …

Kate Middleton Wears Earrings Gifted By Prince William For Leicester Visit

Up next was a trip to Leicester’s famous Golden Mile, which is home to one of the highest concentrations of Indian jewelry, sari, and fashion boutiques in Britain. The Princess of Wales visited a number of family-run businesses in the area, speaking with locals to understand how they work together to support the community. Middleton will then visit the Shreeji Dham Haveli temple. Dedicated to the teachings of Shrimad Vallabhacharya Mahaprabhuji, the temple serves the local Vaishnav community, offering a space for worship and for community activities, including yoga classes, language lessons, and musical programs. The Princess will discuss Holi celebrations with local residents, learning how they mark the arrival of spring while focusing on spiritual renewal and community connection. The Princess of Wales will next join Prince William, King Charles, Queen Camilla, and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester for the Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey. The senior royals will turn out in force on Monday to celebrate the 56 nations that make up the Commonwealth. After a winter dominated by shades of …

Royal Photographer Chris Jackson “Noticed a Significant Change In the Way Things Are Done” With King Charles Reign

As a photographer you are present, but you keep a certain distance from what’s going on around you. Have you gotten to know members of the British royal family over the years? A key part of my role as a royal photographer for Getty Images is to document historic moments—images that, hopefully, will be looked back on decades, maybe even centuries from now. They are part of the visual fabric of British history. Over time, of course, professional relationships are built up across the board: behind the scenes, with palace staff, security and, to some extent, with the protagonists themselves. That familiarity is part of the job and for me it’s something that makes it so enjoyable. Meeting people you’ve been working with for 20 years in different environments is always a special experience. I remember sitting waiting for a plane on a royal tour a few years ago and looking around the room and realizing that I had known many of the journalists and staff members for more than 15 years of my life. …
