Cillian Murphy is a stalwart of the acting world, having established himself as a safe pair of hands thanks to standout performances in Oppenheimer, Peaky Blinders, 28 Years Later and Steve. It’s perhaps unsurprising, then, that one of his sons has followed in his footsteps. Cillian shares two sons with his wife, Yvonne McGuinness, including 18-year-old Aran, who has already appeared in TV projects such as Lola and Klara and the Sun. Peaky Blinders became a smash hit back in 2013 when it first aired on BBC2, and after 13 years and six seasons, the show has bowed out with a feature-length film on Netflix, titled The Immortal Man. The Netflix synopsis reads: “Amidst the chaos of WWII, Tommy Shelby is driven back from a self-imposed exile to face his most destructive reckoning yet. With the future of the family and the country at stake, Tommy must face his own demons, and choose whether to confront his legacy, or burn it to the ground. By order of the Peaky Blinders…” The film dropped on Netflix on Friday, and fans have been rushing to stream it. It currently has a 91% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, however, viewers have been leaving mixed reviews to the franchise’s swansong. Tommy Shelby is finally back on our screens after four years away. The long-awaited Peaky Blinders film, The Immortal Man, is in select cinemas now (ahead of its arrival on Netflix on 20 March), and it ushers in a new chapter in the Shelby clan’s story. As a long-time fan of the show, I had been a little worried that a movie may not have the same magic as the show did. But boy, was I wrong. Steven Knight has created something incredibly special with this film. It’s everything that a fan of the show could want it to be, and even more. Personally, I’d give it five stars. Cillian Murphy and his artist wife Yvonne McGuinness have finally secured planning permission to restore a cinema in Dingle, Ireland. The Oscar-winning Oppenheimer actor, 49, and his wife of 22 years bought the dilapidated cinema in November 2024 with the intention of restoring it to its former glory. A year and a half later, planning permission has finally been granted by Kerry County Council. Barry Keoghan Finally Reveals Peaky Blinders Film Role

Ever since news of a Peaky Blinders film dropped back in the summer of 2024, fans have been speculating about how the cast of old faces and new names would weave together. One of the most intriguing additions to the line-up was Barry Keoghan, and with the trailer for the movie debuting on Thursday, he’s also shared some key details about what role his character will play. It’s been confirmed that Barry will play Duke, the estranged son of Cillian Murphy’s character, Tommy Shelby – and in his dad’s absence, Duke has become the new leader of the Peaky Blinders gang. Meanwhile, if the new trailer is anything to go by – with Duke going as far as considering committing treason to help the Germans win the war – his presence is going to cause something of a ruckus. The 2026 awards race has officially reached Ireland. Jessie Buckley, Daniel Day-Lewis and Cillian Murphy are among the top stars nominated at the Irish Film & TV Awards (IFTA) this year ahead of the Feb. 14 ceremony at Dublin’s Royal Convention Centre. Buckley is recognized for her gut-wrenching performance in Chloe Zhao’s Shakespeare drama Hamnet, as is her co-star Paul Mescal. She’ll be competing against Carolyn Bracken (Horseshoe), Carrie Crowley (Aontas), Fionna Flanagan (Four Mothers), Eleanor O’Brien (Báite) and Fiona Shaw (Hot Milk). Hamnet is also up for best international film at the 21st IFTAs, alongside Bugonia, One Battle After Another, Palestine ’36, Sentimental Value and Sinners.
