The Gaza Tribunal: A question of complicity | Genocide

The Gaza Tribunal: A question of complicity | Genocide

What role has the United Kingdom played in Israel’s war on Gaza? We meet those who say it’s complicit in atrocities committed there. During the Gaza war, protesters have flooded the streets of major British cities, calling on their leaders to cut off the supply of weapons and other military hardware to Israel. The United Kingdom’s relationship with its ally is under scrutiny. Jeremy Corbyn, a British MP, set up the Gaza Tribunal to examine whether the UK’s support for Israel amounts to complicity. Doctors and aid workers gave emotional accounts of the horrors they saw while working in the Gaza Strip, and journalists presented evidence of weapons shipments and spy flights allegedly operating from a nearby British air force base. All were making the case that the UK’s unwavering support for Israel is no longer legally or morally justifiable. In its final report, published on March 16, the Gaza Tribunal said the UK has failed in its duty to prevent genocide and has been complicit in atrocities. It also recommended that the UK end …

‘The Epstein scandal is astonishing by the scale of the complicity and rape culture at the top of society’

All eyes have turned to the New York financier who ran an international network of sex trafficking and child sexual abuse. Marc Crépon, professor of philosophy at the Ecole Normale Supérieure, analyzes how this sexual abuse scandal has put our society to the test. MARCUS YAM/LOS ANGELES TIMES VIA GETTY IMAGES By revealing, on January 16, in a filmed interview with The News – a pro-Israel news site posting on X – that she was the subject of an arrest warrant issued by French judges, French-Israeli lawyer Nili Kupfer-Naouri confirmed developments in a judicial investigation opened in spring 2025 for complicity in genocide and incitement to genocide in Gaza. ‘The War, Donald Trump and Us’ – from complicity to the brink of conflict

Emmanuel Macron in the documentary “La Guerre, Donald Trump et Nous” (“The War, Donald Trump and Us”) by Guy Lagache. ÉLÉPHANT PRODUCTION/MILE PRODUCTION/FRANCE TÉLÉVISIONS In January 2022, journalist and filmmaker Guy Lagache secured permission to follow Emmanuel Macron during France’s rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union. The project was abruptly upended when Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24. Lagache embedded with the Elysée’s diplomatic unit and his film Un président, l’Europe et la guerre (“A President, Europe and the War”), watched by 2.4 million viewers, became a documentary for the history books. Three years later, Donald Trump’s attempt to “humiliate” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on February 28, 2025, in the Oval Office in Washington, prompted the journalist to revisit the experience and film La Guerre, Donald Trump et Nous (“The War, Donald Trump and Us”). Once again, the Elysée agreed to open its doors, though less extensively than for the first documentary. And there were fewer surprises. Filming took place between March 2025 and November 2025. The kidnapping of Venezuelan President Nicolas …
