YouTube’s AI Is Ready to Customize Your Scrolling

YouTube’s AI Is Ready to Customize Your Scrolling

AI is coming for your YouTube feed algorithm, if you want it. The platform announced a new feature this week that can create a personalized feed based on a prompt describing your interests. In its announcement, YouTube suggests prompts like unwinding after work with 10-minute guided meditations or something different from your usual interests. And you can save your prompt as a pin at the top of your Home page to revisit it.  YouTube unveiled the new feature on Wednesday, along with a few new AI updates, including automatic AI detection and clear labels for AI-generated content. The AI customized feed feature is available now and rolling out to US viewers signed in on the YouTube mobile or desktop app. It’s unclear if or when the feature will be available internationally or on TV apps. A representative for YouTube did not immediately respond to a request for comment.  Read more: Google I/O 2026 Recap: Everything Announced How YouTube’s new AI feature works Here’s how it works: You’ll tap the “Your custom feed” chip on the Home …

iOS 26 Setting to Customize if You Hate Your iPhone’s Liquid Glass Design

iOS 26 Setting to Customize if You Hate Your iPhone’s Liquid Glass Design

Apple brought Liquid Glass to iPhones when the company released iOS 26 in September. This redesign is the most dramatic visual update Apple has brought to your iPhone since the company released iOS 7 in 2013. But if you’re not a fan of the design and your device is on at least iOS 26.1, you can adjust the new design across your iPhone. Some people were torn about the design when Apple released the developer beta of iOS 26. Apple tweaked the design during the iOS 26 beta process to improve legibility by adding more of a frosted look, but you still might not be happy with it. However, you can adjust the Liquid Glass design in just a few steps, significantly reducing its transparency. Here’s how to make the Liquid Glass design in iOS 26 more legible across your whole device.  How to adjust Liquid Glass 1. Open Settings.2. Tap Accessibility.3. Tap Display & Text Size.4. Tap the toggle for Reduce Transparency.  This will darken any menus or elements affected by the Liquid Glass design, including in apps like Messages and …

Arcee’s new, open source Trinity-Large-Thinking is the rare, powerful U.S.-made AI model that enterprises can download and customize

Arcee’s new, open source Trinity-Large-Thinking is the rare, powerful U.S.-made AI model that enterprises can download and customize

The baton of open source AI models has been passed on between several companies over the years since ChatGPT debuted in late 2022, from Meta with its Llama family to Chinese labs like Qwen and z.ai. But lately, Chinese companies have started pivoting back towards proprietary models even as some U.S. labs like Cursor and Nvidia release their own variants of the Chinese models, leaving a question mark about who will originate this branch of technology going forward. One answer: Arcee, a San Francisco based lab, which this week released AI Trinity-Large-Thinking—a 399-billion parameter text-only reasoning model released under the uncompromisingly open Apache 2.0 license, allowing for full customizability and commercial usage by anyone from indie developers to large enterprises. The release represents more than just a new set of weights on AI code sharing community Hugging Face; it is a strategic bet that “American Open Weights” can provide a sovereign alternative to the increasingly closed or restricted frontier models of 2025. This move arrives precisely as enterprises express growing discomfort with relying on Chinese-based …

25 years later, this app is still the best way to customize your Windows desktop

25 years later, this app is still the best way to customize your Windows desktop

I’ve seen more friends than I can think of using programs like Wallpaper Engine to give their PC a bit of extra flair. But back in 2001, and subsequently since then, a little application called Rainmeter has been the customization king. If you’re hoping to make your PC look unlike anything else, this is the app that can make it happen. Wallpaper Engine and other similar programs can absolutely make your PC look pretty, but if you’re hoping to have a constant stream of information about your computer available every time you go back to the desktop? It may be time to pick up Rainmeter and see what it can do for you. Rainmeter offers unparalleled freedom Aesthetics are just as important as information with Rainmeter While I’ve used Wallpaper Engine myself, I’m also incredibly curious about what’s going on with my PC at any given time. Seeing what makes it run is just as fascinating as building one yourself, and I’m always hungry for more data about my computer. I mean, that’s one of …

Govee has a new set of outdoor smart string lights that will bring the party to your backyard. The smart home device company says its Outdoor Chromatic String Lights are the first of their kind, with gradient looks and special effects for each individual bulb. CNET has rated Govee’s RGBIC outdoor string lights as the best value, so this could be a promising addition or upgrade ahead of summer and all those evenings outside. Here’s what to know about them, especially ahead of Amazon’s Big Spring Sale this week. How do the Outdoor Chromatic String Lights work? You can control the lights, gradients and special effects on your smart device through the Govee app, and through Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The string lights also work with other Govee devices for ecosystem integration. Govee’s lights can be attached to stakes or poles. This is the easiest way to customize your Apple Watch — and most people ignore it

This is the easiest way to customize your Apple Watch — and most people ignore it

I don’t often change the watch face on my Apple Watch for one simple reason: it’s a huge pain. Adjusting complications, customizing colors, and moving things to just the right position on a screen that measures only 1.5–1.7″ is cumbersome. If it were easier, I’d probably change my watch face more often, perhaps to complement what I’m wearing or to have info and functions that I need for that day. But there’s a super-easy way to customize your Apple Watch face that most people ignore. It comes from a relatively hidden accessibility feature in iOS that lets you mirror your Apple Watch on your iPhone in real time, blowing up the screen significantly and making it infinitely easier to customize your watch. I’ll show you how to access this feature easily. Apple Watch Mirroring setup It’s an accessibility feature There are two ways to trigger Apple Watch mirroring, both of which involve invoking an accessibility shortcut. To make this work, you just need an iPhone running iOS 16 or later and an Apple Watch with …
