Trump Secretly Believes That Diet Coke Kills Cancer Cells Inside the Body

Sign up to see the future, today Can’t-miss innovations from the bleeding edge of science and tech President Donald Trump has an idea about soft drinks that’s pretty fringe even by his own eccentric standards. The president thinks soft drinks can kill cancer cells in the body, and that’s why he constantly guzzles it — with his devotion to fizzy drinks so complete that he had a special button installed in his desk in the White House that summons an aide to bring him Diet Coca Cola whenever he wants. At least, that’s according to celebrity TV doctor and now-administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Mehmet “Dr. Oz” Oz, who revealed the eyebrow-raising information on a podcast hosted by Trump’s eldest son Donald Trump, Jr. “Then comes the diet soda pops, which your dad argues that diet soda is good for him because it kills grass [when] it’s poured on grass, so therefore, it must kill cancer cells inside the body,” Oz told Trump Jr. Oz recalled once being on Air Force …

This Mediterranean‑style diet is linked to a slower loss of brain volume as we age

The Mediterranean diet – rich in olive oil, fish, vegetables and legumes – has long been linked to better heart health. Growing evidence suggests it may also help support brain health as we age, with a brain-focused variation of the diet drawing increasing scientific attention. It is called the Mind diet. The name stands for Mediterranean-Dash Intervention for Neurodegenerative Delay – though what matters more than the acronym is what it actually involves: plenty of green vegetables, beans, whole grains, nuts, berries, poultry and fish, with olive oil as the main cooking fat, and limited amounts of red meat, butter, cheese, fried food and sweets. It combines the most brain-friendly elements of two well-studied eating patterns: the traditional Mediterranean diet and the Dash diet, which was originally developed to lower blood pressure. A recent analysis from the long-running Framingham heart study examined the diets of adults aged 60 and over and assessed how these dietary patterns were associated with brain scan data collected later in the study. Those who followed the Mind diet most closely …

Beef is making a comeback – does it fit into a healthy diet?

Beef is making a comeback – does it fit into a healthy diet?

Beef consumption is on the rise in the US, but is there any amount that fits into a healthy diet? Westend61 GmbH/Alamy The US government caused quite a stir earlier this year when it unveiled its new dietary guidelines. A hunk of red meat now gets top billing, sitting at the widest section of the food pyramid, implying beef and other animal-based proteins should form a substantial part of a healthy diet. The guidance is a sharp departure from public health messaging of the past few decades, which had advised limiting red meat consumption. “It’s very confusing for consumers,” says Sara Bleich at Harvard University, who previously worked at the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) under former President Joe Biden. “You look at that image – which has a huge piece of steak on it – and naturally you’re going to say, ‘Oh! I can eat as much steak as I want,’” she says. Beef’s comeback didn’t come out of nowhere – it has been brewing for years. Social media is filled with posts about …

A doctor lists 5 common diet mistakes sabotaging your weight loss goals

A doctor lists 5 common diet mistakes sabotaging your weight loss goals

Thankfully, super restrictive weight loss plans like the Scarsdale Diet have fallen out of fashion and many of us are now increasingly focused on harnessing the benefits of food through a healthier lens of self-care and well-being. Key to this body-friendly approach is really paying attention to what exactly is in your food, embracing ingredients with anti-inflammatory properties that are also famed for helping produce the “happiness hormone”, serotonin.  Also trending? Healthy dinners aimed not at waking up with a flat stomach, but at encouraging the calm, restorative sleep that is so beneficial for our physical and mental health every night. That doesn’t mean though, that a conscious eating philosophy equals being unable to reach and maintain your ideal weight if that’s what you’re hoping to do.  We can acknowledge that those are common goals, while also understanding that to do it in a healthy, effective way can prove to be a real challenge if you aren’t aware of the right tools.  © Getty Images‘Miracle diets’ aren’t the magic solution to keeping your body healthy …

The Real-Life Diet of Joe Baena, Who Got the Bodybuilding Encyclopedia From His Dad, Arnold Schwarzenegger

The Real-Life Diet of Joe Baena, Who Got the Bodybuilding Encyclopedia From His Dad, Arnold Schwarzenegger

Joe Baena possesses a classic bodybuilder’s physique. That’s no longer a matter of strict opinion, either. He’s got hardware to prove it. On March 28, Baena—son of seven-time Mr. Olympia, former California governor, and revered actor Arnold Schwarzenegger—took home the top prize at the NPC Natural Colorado State bodybuilding competition, including the gold medal for Men’s Classic Physique. The “natural” part of the contest refers to the bodybuilders’ training methods, which is all natural, meaning without the aid of steroids, peptides, or other performance enhancers. Baena, who only decided to seriously pursue bodybuilding this year, obviously had the help of some legendary genes. But he also developed a juice-free training regimen that was accessible and fun to even his non-bodybuilder friends. Pumping iron on the hallowed grounds of Gold’s Gym in Venice Beach, California—the same place his father got swole in the ’70s—Baena was able to sculpt a body that also recently earned him a pro card on the International Natural Bodybuilding Association circuit. (He’s also worked out with his famous father, something that meatheads …

The Real-Life Diet of Daniel Neeleman, Who Abides by the Rule of Skinny French Women

The Real-Life Diet of Daniel Neeleman, Who Abides by the Rule of Skinny French Women

Daniel Neeleman’s family just welcomed their ninth child. It is a number that feels, as he put it over Zoom, “magical.” Coincidentally, Daniel is one of nine children raised in a Mormon family and so is his wife, Hannah—more popularly known as @ballerinafarm. The baby girl, like her eight siblings, will experience a bucolic upbringing filled with homemade sourdough, meats originating from cows whose names they might know, and their freshly-squeezed milk, which is no longer sold raw after the Utah Department of Agriculture and Food reportedly cited two health violations in a sample of Ballerina Farm’s milk in August 2025. (The Neelemans have since clarified in a YouTube video that unsafe raw milk was never sold at either of their two brick-and-mortar Ballerina Farm retail stores.) The clean-eating, Carhartt-clad homesteader life the Neelemans enjoy in Utah today is vastly different from the ultra-nineties, processed-food-heavy one Daniel grew up with in Connecticut. “Dad went to work every day,” he says. (Neeleman’s father, David, is the founder of five commercial airlines, which includes JetBlue Airways.) “Mom …

The 56-year-old has offered a rare glimpse into her daily diet, revealing how she fuels her body while maintaining that signature glow. Her mornings begin early, often in what she describes as a “super quiet house,” where she starts the day with a French press coffee before taking her dog out. © Getty ImagesCatherine enjoys her food while keeping treats to weekends Breakfast is non-negotiable, but it changes with the seasons. In winter, she opts for a comforting bowl of porridge topped with brown sugar, bananas and blueberries. When the weather warms up, she switches to a lighter option: non-fat vanilla yogurt with granola, blueberries and raspberries. “I’m a three meals a day kind of girl,” she told Harper’s Bazaar, noting that she usually waits until around 8am …

The Real-Life Diet of Joel Kim Booster, Who Loves a Fasted Workout

The Real-Life Diet of Joel Kim Booster, Who Loves a Fasted Workout

You recently got married. You’ve described your relationship in the past as “a snack-based relationship.” Tell me how that developed. The relationship or the snacking? The snacking. I mean, I’ll be frank, it’s because I’m a huge stoner. After 6 p.m., when I start smoking weed, it’s game over. I mean, part of it is I have ADHD, so I take Adderall during the day, which makes it very easy to fast until a certain point. And then I smoke weed at night, which makes it very hard to fast at a certain point. Are there any particular go-to snacks you have to have? I mean, they’re not paying me to say this, but I’m a big Thrive market user because I know that I’m going to be consuming food. So what I try to do is only have available stuff in the house that is reasonably good for you, to some degree. I am big on fried chicken skin as a low carb chip substitute, fruit leather instead of candy, protein ice cream, shit …
