11 Phrases People With Incredibly Low Mental & Emotional Discipline Say In Casual Conversation

Failing is unavoidable, but how you handle it is what matters most. Some people throw their hands up in defeat at even the slightest failure, while others channel their inner strength and resilience to push forward. Attitude is everything, especially when it comes to how people interpret their station in life, and because of this, there are particular phrases that folks with low discipline often say. People with high discipline, on the other hand, set themselves up for success with a positive mindset, while losers see every bump in the road as definitive proof they’ll never succeed. By taking a close look at the phrases these types of people often use, it becomes clear that they don’t realize how capable they really are. People with low discipline usually say these things casually in conversation: 1. ‘I’ll do it later’ The laws of physics declare that an object at rest will stay at rest, and that law can be applied to people as well. It’s easy to keep staying still, but motivating yourself to take action …

4 Things People Who Are Slowly Losing All Their Mental & Emotional Discipline Usually Do In Everyday Life

We rightly admire mentally & emotionally disciplined people. Because whatever your goals are — from making the Olympics or starting a business to writing a novel or sticking to a new diet — self-discipline is often a key ingredient. Still, self-discipline is a misunderstood concept, mainly because we think about it as a fixed personality trait. But here’s what most people don’t understand: Self-discipline is more about habits than genetics. As a psychologist, I work with a lot of people struggling to be more disciplined in their lives. And what I’ve noticed is that it’s not for lack of desire or motivation. The reason we struggle to be more disciplined isn’t a moral failing or faulty genes; it’s that bad habits interfere with our natural ability to be disciplined. If you want to become a more self-disciplined person, learn to identify these habits and eliminate them. Self-discipline won’t be far behind. The Hidden Reason You Struggle With Discipline

The Hidden Reason You Struggle With Discipline

Fifteen years ago, when I was in the process of writing my book, Running on Empty: Overcome Your Childhood Emotional Neglect, I was at a dinner party. It was late in the evening, after dinner, and we were all sitting around the table talking. I mentioned to the group that writing my book was surprisingly demanding. At times when I would typically be relaxing, reading, or watching TV, I was now brainstorming, planning, or writing. But I explained that I was driven to do these things anyway because I was so passionate about my goal: making people aware of the invisible effects of childhood emotional neglect. As my brother-in-law, Rich, was listening to me talk, he said, “I’m going to send you something you have to read.” I didn’t give this another thought until I received it from him a few days later. In it was “The Common Denominator of Success,” by Albert E.N. Gray. It was a copy of a speech made by Albert Gray at the National Association of Life Underwriters in 1940. …

NFL Says No Discipline for Stefon Diggs Under Its Personal Conduct Policy

NFL Says No Discipline for Stefon Diggs Under Its Personal Conduct Policy

Stefon Diggs won’t be facing any discipline from the NFL after a league review determined that there wasn’t enough evidence to punish him under its personal conduct policy. “The league notified Stefon Diggs today that it concluded its investigation and there is insufficient evidence to support a finding of a personal conduct policy violation,” NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said in statement to The Associated Press. ESPN was first to report the league’s finding. Diggs was found not guilty last month of assaulting his personal chef. The charges stemmed from a Dec. 2 incident at his house in Massachusetts where Jamila Adams, a former live-in personal chef, testified that Diggs slapped and choked her during an argument. He had pleaded not guilty to a felony strangulation charge and a misdemeanor assault and battery charge. The jury deliberated for less than two hours before clearing Diggs of all charges. Several NFL players, including Ben Roethlisberger, Jameis Winston and Ezekiel Elliott, have been suspended for violating the personal conduct policy despite not being arrested or charged with a …

For Tory Burch, a 20-year fashion career is a sport driven by endurance, discipline and grit

Clarke wears Tory Burch multi screw heeled sandals and Gemini Link pendant necklaces. This story is part of Image’s May Momentum issue, which looks at art as a sport and sport as an art. It’s 2 p.m. on a quintessentially balmy Los Angeles afternoon when I spot fashion designer Tory Burch in the lobby of the iconic Beverly Hills Hotel. She’s wearing oversize sunglasses, a crisp collared shirt, an even crisper pleated navy skirt and leopard-print pumps. I start walking over to introduce myself, but a fan gets there first. This would happen several times during our meeting at the hotel — wherever Burch goes, a small flock of admirers form. Burch is in town for the Fashion Trust U.S. Awards, where she was recognized with the designer of the year award. Ever since she took back creative control of her brand about six years ago, Tory Burch is back at the center of the American fashion zeitgeist. Compared to the resort-ready tunics and preppy Reva flats that embodied Tory 1.0 in the 2000s, Tory …

Teacher Blames Parents For Raising Kids Who Get Whatever They Want

Teachers are reporting that students’ bad behavior has become a bigger problem than ever before, with many even leaving the profession over the frustration it causes. There’s plenty that this crisis could be attributed to, from the unstable learning environment created by the pandemic to increased exposure to questionable influences on social media. Some educators think they have discovered an even bigger contributing factor through their interactions with students’ parents. One teacher argued that the reason kids are so poorly behaved is that their parents aren’t disciplining them effectively. The teacher shared his perspective in a Reddit post and received quite a bit of support. “No, your kids aren’t just stubborn,” he insisted. “You’re raising a child with no boundaries. People Who Rarely Feel Lost In Life Usually Follow These 11 Internal Rules

Feeling lost doesn’t always come from a lack of options. It often comes from not having a clear way to filter those options or decide what matters most. When everything feels equally important, or equally uncertain, it becomes harder to move forward with any real sense of direction. Some people seem to navigate that uncertainty more steadily. They don’t have everything figured out, but they operate with a set of internal guidelines that keep them oriented. These rules aren’t always something they’ve written down or even consciously defined, but they show up in how they make decisions, respond to change, and keep moving forward. 5 Phrases An Elementary School Teacher Uses To Calm Whining Almost Instantly Without Raising Her Voice

5 Phrases An Elementary School Teacher Uses To Calm Whining Almost Instantly Without Raising Her Voice

Parents know the familiar cadence and tone of a child begging for something, even after a parent says “no,” because every parent has had to deal with whining and pleading that becomes a tantrum in their lives. But not every parent realizes you can stop your child’s whining, and it’s not even that hard.  I always feel bad for the parents who give in to whining and begging. They don’t realize they’re setting themselves up for a lifetime of tantrums and attempted manipulations by their little sweeties. Sometimes I’m even tempted to step in and help.  For instance, I was in the grocery store last week, listening to a multitude of beeps from scanners, when a new sound caught my ear. It was a kid, a preschooler, whining and begging for one of those baby bottle suckers with the sugar inside. She wanted the cherry flavor. “Mommy, can I have this?” the little girl asked. “No, honey,” the mother smiled. “But mom, I don’t have one.” “We have plenty of sweets at home,” the mom reminded. …
