Emily Blunt Is ‘Terrified’ of AI, Didn’t Use It in ‘Disclosure Day’

Emily Blunt is revealing how she was “terrified” to use AI in her upcoming film Disclosure Day, directed by Steven Spielberg, so she decided to find another way to pull off one of her character’s most unusual scenes. On a recent episode of Hot Ones, Blunt appeared to promote Disclosure Day, which hits theaters June 12. In the film, she plays Margaret Fairchild, a TV meteorologist and former journalist who suddenly gains abilities after an encounter with non-human life. In one scene, Margaret has a major vocal change and begins speaking a non-human language during a live weather segment. “It’s a four-minute oner that we shot that leads up to that moment where she’s gradually sort of disintegrating,” the Devil Wears Prada 2 actress said. “There’s various ways you could do it. After the 2024 Golden Globes, Glen Powell found himself on a plane that also happened to be transporting an entire girls soccer team. After blowing through what he estimated to be 30 selfies over the course of a 15-minute boarding process, Powell lowered his baseball cap over his eyes and attempted to decompress. Steven Spielberg took the stage at CinemaCon for the first time in his career to promote his upcoming Universal release, Disclosure Day. After an introduction from star Colman Domingo, the filmmaker received rapturous applause from the annual convention of movie theater owners in Las Vegas on Wednesday. Spielberg accepted the Motion Picture Association’s America250 Award from the group’s chair, Charles Rivkin, in celebration of the director’s work that embraces the nation’s wonders. “I haven’t done a Western yet — that’s next,” the 79-year-old director said. He noted that his first CinemaCon stage appearance had been great: “This will not be my last, I promise.” He recalled his transformative first visit to the cinema: “Nothing could compete with sitting in the first three rows of a movie palace, watching a Cecil B. DeMille epic with color by Technicolor.
