One fortunate ticket-holder has scooped Saturday’s £12 million Lotto jackpot prize. The estimated jackpot for the next draw on Wednesday is £2 million. This Saturday’s winning Lotto numbers were 08, 10, 26, 30, 35, 42 and the bonus number was 50. The National Lottery urged all players to check their tickets and get in contact if they think they are the new multi-millionaire. Name: Shade wars. Age: In this instance, quite new. Appearance: A sandy battleground, studded with enormous flags. It’s been quite hot recently, hasn’t it? That’s an understatement. On a recent Sunday afternoon, hundreds gathered at a warehouse in South-Central Los Angeles to celebrate one of Mexico’s greatest cultural exports. Curated by Mano Pesada Productions, the Lucha Libre Art Show highlighted 38 works — photographs, sculptures and paintings — inspired by the vibrant sport. The event also featured live DJ sets from a booth set atop a wrestling ring, which was used later in the evening for two matches organized by local promotion MFN Lucha. Lucha libre has long been popular in Los Angeles and Southern California. The now defunct Grand Olympic Auditorium began hosting matches in the 1950s, and Angelenos can find countless events popping up at venues like warehouses and pool halls to local institutions like Don Quixote and the Ukrainian Culture Center. Over the decades, the acrobatic form of wrestling and its colorful masks have become among the most visible totems of Mexican and Mexican American identity in the region.
