Royals who missed Trooping the Colour – including Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie and newlywed Peter Phillips

King Charles and other senior members of the royal family attended Trooping the Colour on Saturday, but there were several notable absences. In her final years on the throne, the late Queen started restricting the balcony appearance to only working royals, and for the most part, Charles has kept to this rule, although children of working royals could attend, with Lady Louise Windsor joining the family in 2024. The National Audit Office (NAO) also found that their father, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, received an undisclosed private income from subletting three cottages on his Royal Lodge estate while paying a peppercorn rent for over two decades. While William is in favour of a “clean break” between the princesses and senior working royals, the sisters have steadfastedly rejected any prospect of a change in their living situations, according to the Daily Mail. A source told the newspaper that Andrew’s daughters had resisted both an “ethics check” and an offer from the King to provide the services of a senior adviser to ensure their reputations are not further damaged by the media storm surrounding their father. They added that Eugenie, in particular, is “known to be very fond” of her Kensington Palace home. “She really doesn’t want to go, although the option of paying the rent herself, with the amount made public, has been put on the table,” they continued. “William would prefer that a clean break be made and that she move out of the royal gated …

Andrew’s 4-word ‘rule’ for Beatrice and Eugenie on how to behave | Royal | News

Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie’s appearance at Peter Phillips’ wedding last weekend has sparked discussion after reports claimed Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor told his daughters to attend the family occasion with a simple four-word message. The York sisters joined members of the Royal Family at the Gloucestershire wedding alongside their husbands, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi and Jack Brooksbank, following months of intense scrutiny surrounding both their parents and their own positions within the monarchy. Beatrice and Eugenie were photographed walking to the venue, drawing significant attention. According to the Daily Mail, the sisters had reportedly been uncertain about whether to attend the wedding at all before receiving encouragement from their father, who is now living on the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk. A source told the Mail: “For while Beatrice and Eugenie are said to have been in two minds about whether or not even to attend their cousin’s nuptials, I can reveal that Andrew – still nursing an ego as bruised as his recently-photographed face – emailed his daughters from exile in rural Norfolk, urging them not merely …

Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie are being bankrolled by King Charles – is it time they start paying rent?

Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie have found themselves unwillingly in the spotlight again, following the release of a new report by the National Audit Office into the royal family’s residential property arrangements. The report uncovered the shocking detail that Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, the King’s disgraced brother, was subletting his properties at Royal Lodge and gaining an undisclosed private income. It’s understood the rent Andrew received was to cover the maintenance and running costs of the sublets, and he did not make a profit; as the leaseholder, he was allowed to do that. But the revelation has prompted fresh outcry over the benefits Andrew had, while only paying peppercorn rent on his 30-room Windsor mansion. WATCH: Has the King been bankrolling Beatrice and Eugenie? The King’s rental agreement with Beatrice and Eugenie What was also laid bare in the report, however, was that Andrew’s daughters, Beatrice, 37, and Eugenie, 36 – two non-working members of the royal family who have their own careers, second homes in the Cotswolds and Portugal respectively, and are married to wealthy husbands …

King Charles ‘could be paying £278k per year’ for Eugenie and Beatrice’s rent despite Andrew’s daughters being non-working royals

King Charles could be paying more than £278,000 per year to cover the rents of Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie’s accommodation in royal palaces, a valuer has estimated. Both Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s daughters are non-working royals, but maintain residences in St James’s Palace and Kensington Palace, according to a new audit published on Friday. The report, published by the National Audit Office (NAO), said the rents were discounted to around 60 per cent of open market prices because the Royal Household properties require tenants with security clearance. It did not reveal the figures the King is paying. It also found that for a number of years, these adjusted rents were based on out-of-date open market valuations. Princess Beatrice has a property in St James’s Palace, and Princess Eugenie has Ivy Cottage at Kensington Palace. Both of these are covered by the privy purse, which is King Charles’ private money, according to the report. Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor received an undisclosed private income from subletting three cottages (PA) Robin Edwards, a property buying agent at Curetons, told The Independent the …

POLL: Should Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie be evicted from royal homes? | Royal | News

Some of the findings of the bombshell probe include that the York sisters have been living rent-free in Kensington Palace and St James’s Palace, despite having their own jobs outside royal duties. And for a number of years, their adjusted rents – reduced because the Royal Household properties require tenants with security clearance – were based on outdated open-market valuations. The findings have sparked backlash with former Liberal Democrat minister Norman Baker, who has long been a critic of royal finances, branding the arrangements “outrageous”. But what do YOU think? Should Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie be evicted from royal homes? Vote in the poll and express your opinion in the comment section below. Another revelation is that Andrew received an undisclosed private income from subletting three cottages on his Royal Lodge estate while paying a peppercorn rent for more than two decades. On Saturday, Ernest Brooksbank turned three. It was his last birthday as the youngest child in the household, as his mum is expected to give birth this summer to her third child. Late on Saturday evening, Eugenie took to her Instagram account to share a set of previously unseen photographs with Ernest, including one of him with her and another one with his older brother, August. The princess captioned her post: “Happy 3rd birthday to my tiger loving, hat wearing, constantly hugging, fearless golden boy Ernie. “You light up every room with your deep voice and infectious smile.” It comes as Eugenie is facing a challenging period following her parents’ humiliation due to their links to convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein. The princess has kept a low profile since last year but broke her silence earlier this month when she announced that she is pregnant for the third time. Elsewhere, reports claimed Eugenie has been “quietly dropped” from a major position at King Charles’s Foundation. The reason behind Eugenie’s exit from the role is uncertain, with …
