macOS Tahoe 26.4 Adds Slow Charger Indicator for MacBooks

macOS Tahoe 26.4 Adds Slow Charger Indicator for MacBooks

macOS Tahoe 26.4 includes a new slow charger indicator that tells MacBook users when their charging setup isn’t delivering full power. As described in an updated Apple support document, a “Slow Charger” label now appears in orange text in the battery status menu and above the Battery Level graph in Battery settings. The indicator is accompanied by an info button for more details. Apple says that to charge more quickly, users should use a power adapter and cable that deliver at least the minimum wattage recommended for their MacBook model. The feature is similar to one Apple added to iPhone with iOS 18, where periods of slow charging appear as an orange bar in the Battery section of the Settings app. The slow charger indicator is one of two battery-related changes in macOS 26.4. The update also adds a Charge Limit feature that lets MacBook users set a maximum charge level anywhere from 80 to 100 percent, with the aim of preserving long-term battery health. macOS Tahoe 26.4 is available now via System Settings ➝ …

‘Every indicator is flashing red,’ says UN as it warns of record ‘climate imbalance’ | Science, Climate & Tech News

‘Every indicator is flashing red,’ says UN as it warns of record ‘climate imbalance’ | Science, Climate & Tech News

The Earth’s climate is in a “state of emergency”, according to the United Nations which has warned it is more out of balance than at any other time in observed history.  The World Meteorological Organisation (WMO), which is the UN’s weather agency, predicted that rapid and large-scale changes to the global climate in recent decades would trigger harmful repercussions lasting centuries. It comes as rising greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere drive global warming and melt ice. The WMO’s annual “state of the global climate” report, released on Monday, also highlighted the impact in 2025 of intense heatwaves, heavy rainfall, wildfires, drought, tropical cyclones, storms, and flooding, including widespread death and vast economic losses. Pic: Reuters It further demonstrated the cascading impacts that extreme weather events were having worldwide, including food insecurity and displacement, and health risks driven by shifting rainfall patterns, like mosquito-borne dengue disease and heat stress. UN secretary-general Antonio Guterres warned the global climate is in a “state of emergency”. “Planet Earth is being pushed beyond …

Savings Rate Highest In 6 Months As Fed’s Favorite Inflation Indicator Rises Near 2-Year High

The Fed’s favorite inflation indicator – Core PCE (a measure of price changes in consumer goods and services that excludes volatile food and energy costs) – rose o.4% MoM in January (in line with expectations) with YoY rising by 3.1% (as expected), slightly higher than the 3.0% in December… Source Bloomberg That is the highest YoY Core PCE since March 2024. The headline PCE rose 0.3% MoM (as expected) driving prices up 2.8% YoY (down from December’s +2.9% YoY)… Source Bloomberg Services continue to dominate the prices gains with Goods costs dropping very marginally in January… Source Bloomberg For those worried about the impact of crude oil’s recent surge (since the start of the Iran war), it appears – somehow – that PCE’s Energy component has already front-run a lot of the move… Higher prices were met with higher incomes and higher spending (rising in line with one another for a change)… On the income side, wage growth accelerated for both private and govt workers: Private worker salaries up 5.0% YoY in January, up from …

“Luann & Sonja: Welcome to Crappie Lake”: An indicator of just how little class money can buy

“Luann & Sonja: Welcome to Crappie Lake”: An indicator of just how little class money can buy

In Bravo’s latest offshoot from their “Real Housewives” franchise, “Luann & Sonja: Welcome to Crappie Lake,” “RHONY” alums Luann de Lesseps and Sonja Morgan package themselves as modernizations of Laverne & Shirley or Thelma and Louise in adventurous “fish out of water” scenarios that find them a-wrasslin’ and a-catchin’ catfish with their bare hands in a lake in Benton, Illinois called “Crappie Lake” — referring as much to the type of fish found within (pronounced Craw-pee) as to the odorific sewage plant nearby. But, to my recollection, neither of the buddy duos mentioned above are known for blasting out farts in public or aggressively propositioning local municipal workers as Luann and Sonja are. Not like there’s anything wrong with doing that. Or not doing that for that matter. These are just points of distinction that money, so it seems, really cannot buy you class, but classlessness does make for great reality television. Ask the cast of “Vanderpump Rules” about their new Emmy nominations to prove this point. To give some background on the “Crappie Lake” stars, Luann is a 58-year-old former …
