Aaron Schwartz | Bloomberg | Getty Images President Donald Trump reported thousands of financial transactions totaling hundreds of millions of dollars — including large purchases and sales of tech giants Nvidia, Microsoft, Amazon and Meta — in the first three months of 2026, new disclosure forms reveal. Trump’s filings with the U.S. Office of Government Ethics show more than 3,700 transactions, with the total amount for each listed as a range rather than an exact figure. The transactions, which became public on Thursday, are valued at between $220 million and $750 million cumulatively, according to Reuters. Trump’s biggest purchases and sales skewed toward the tech sector, the filings showed. Among three dozen transactions valued between $1 million and $5 million in the first quarter of 2026, Trump bought securities of ServiceNow, Nvidia, Adobe, Microsoft, Oracle, Broadcom, Motorola, Amazon, Texas Instruments and Dell, the filings show. …

JD Vance visits Hungary to support Viktor Orbán

Jonathan Ernst | Afp | Getty Images Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has U.S. President Donald Trump’s “complete and total support” — but is on course to lose the country’s elections, which are shaping up to be one of the most important and contentious in Europe this year. On Tuesday, U.S. Vice President JD Vance will touch down in Hungary to offer Orbán his support and address an election rally at a soccer stadium in Budapest ahead of Sunday’s elections. While other European leaders have aligned themselves unambiguously with Ukraine in its war against Russia, Orbán has maintained comparatively close ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin. He even said on the campaign trail that the EU was a greater threat to Hungary than Russia. The latest polls show Orbán and his Fidesz party are set to lose to their main challenger, the pro-European opposition party Tisza, with its leader, Peter Magyar, on …

Trump-Xi China summit may be delayed: Bessent

Trump-Xi China summit may be delayed: Bessent

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said Monday that the meeting between President Donald Trump and Chinese Leader Xi Jinping could be delayed for logistical reasons. Bessent spoke during an appearance on CNBC’s “Squawk Box.” Trump suggested Sunday that the summit could be delayed as the U.S. pressures China to help reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Bessent walked those comments back on Monday, arguing the summit would be delayed if Trump chooses to stay in Washington to coordinate the war effort in Iran. “If the meetings are delayed, it wouldn’t be delayed because the president demanded that China police the Strait of Hormuz,” Bessent said in an interview with CNBC’s Brian Sullivan in Paris. “If the meeting, for some reason, is rescheduled, it would be rescheduled because of logistics.” “It would be a decision the president made as commander in chief to stay in the White House or to stay in the United States while this war is being prosecuted,” he said. The comments also indicate that the White House is anticipating the war — which Trump …

Congress takes on Nvidia, White House in push for chip export limits

Republican lawmakers are pushing to place limits on the ability of U.S. companies to sell advanced semiconductors to China — an effort that has run afoul of some key figures in the Trump administration. The effort also pits China hawks on the Hill against Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, who has repeatedly made the pitch to lawmakers and government official that the more U.S. chips are used in China, the more U.S. companies will be a leader in the space. House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Brian Mast, R-Fla., is at the forefront of ensuring artificial intelligence and chips are being viewed as a national security asset — and he isn’t afraid to call Huang out directly. “The joke here is, Jensen wants us to trust the CCP,” Mast told CNBC in an interview, referring to the Chinese Communist Party. “Anybody watching this should laugh.” In the latest salvo, the House Foreign Affairs Committee advanced legislation that would allow Congress 30 days to review and block sales of advanced chips to adversarial countries — similar to the …

Why India joining this U.S.-led tech alliance could help supply chains

India is joining the U.S.-led Pax Silica initiative, giving Washington its biggest win yet in the race to shape and influence who has access to advanced semiconductors and AI infrastructure supply chains.  Pax Silica is the Trump administration’s effort aimed at securing the global supply chain for silicon-based technologies. India joins Japan, South Korea, Singapore, the Netherlands, Israel, the United Kingdom, Australia, as well as Qatar and the UAE, as core members. India’s participation, which will be formalized Thursday at the India AI Impact Summit in New Delhi, brings one of the world’s largest technology markets, and a member of the BRICS alliance, into Pax Silica at a moment when competition over AI hardware is intensifying across geopolitical blocs. “Pax Silica is really not about China, it is about America. We want to secure our supply chains,” Jacob Helberg, U.S. undersecretary of State for economic affairs, told CNBC in an interview on Wednesday.  “We view India as a partner to help de-risk and diversify those supply chains,” Helberg added.  Undersecretary of State Jacob Helberg Convenes …
