Where was ITV’s Gone filmed?

Where was ITV’s Gone filmed?

When the headmaster of a prestigious private school returns home to find that his wife has disappeared, one detective begins to question whether he knows more than he’s letting on. Michael Polly appears more concerned with his job and coaching the school rugby team than he does with the disappearance of his wife Sarah – also a teacher at the school alongside their daughter Alana – which raises the eyebrows of DS Annie Cassidy. Having survived an abusive relationship herself – although there’s a risk of her being pulled back into it – she recognises traits in Michael that leave a bad taste in her mouth, as she wonders: is Michael responsible for Sarah’s disappearance? “It’s subtly done,” Morrissey said in an interview with Radio Times of how Gone explores themes of coercive control. “What I like about the way it’s laced into this is that we feel a lot of the time about domestic violence and coercive behaviour that it’s something that we should all see, or we ask, how did you miss that? …

The Lady cast and their real-life counterparts: Who stars in ITV’s drama?

The Lady cast and their real-life counterparts: Who stars in ITV’s drama?

The Lady premieres on ITV1 and ITVX tonight, featuring BAFTA Rising Star winner Mia McKenna Bruce (Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials) as convicted murderer Jane Andrews. Andrews became the subject of great media interest in September 2000, when she killed her boyfriend, Thomas Cressman (played by Ed Speleers), before going on the run for several days. Besides the shocking nature of the crime itself, Andrews had previously been a staff member and close confidante to Sarah Ferguson (Natalie Dormer), then known as the Duchess of York (a title she has since stopped using). Andrews had parted ways with Ferguson a few years earlier, but her connection to the Royal Family was a prominent angle of news coverage – and according to Thomas’s brother, Rick, it’s the main reason why the case continues to be examined. This dramatisation of the true story was written and produced prior to the release of old emails from Ferguson to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, which have been the source of outrage and criticism in recent weeks. The Lady co-star …

ITV’s new cat-and-mouse detective drama Gone promises a ‘chilling’ mystery

ITV has unveiled a first look at its upcoming six-part drama, Gone, starring Eve Myles (The Crow Girl, The Guest) and David Morrissey (The Long Shadow, Sherwood) – and it’s definitely going on my TV watchlist this spring.  The series, which promises to be a “chilling mystery”, follows a local school headmaster, Michael Polly (David Morrissey), who becomes the prime suspect in his wife’s disappearance. What follows is a game of cat-and-mouse between Michael and the detective on his case, Annie Cassidy (Eve Myles). © ITVThe series comes to ITV this spring The dramatic first look images provide a glimpse at the new series, showing Michael sitting on a panel at a press conference following his wife’s disappearance, as well as a close-up of Annie in a police interview room. Crime drama fans should put this one on their watchlist. Not only is the series penned by George Kay, who created Apple TV’s tense thriller Hijack and ITV’s gripping drama The Long Shadow, but it’s also inspired by the careers of real detective Julie Mackay, the …
