Russia Hits Kiev Ammo Dump Next To Homes; Ukraine Admits 90% Of Retail Food Logistics Wrecked

A Russian drone struck a Ukrainian Defense Forces ammunition storage site in the village of Myla Friday evening, just west of Kiev. The resulting fire and hours of secondary detonations killed at least 37 people, injured dozens more, damaged around 50 residential buildings and a care home for the elderly and disabled, and forced the evacuation of hundreds. Among the dead was the local community head who had gone to help. Here are some close-up shots from yesterday’s explosion at an ammunition depot in the village of Myla, in the Kyiv region. Another 42 people were also injured and more than 380 evacuated from the strike area in the Bucha district, Tymur Tkachenko, governor of the Kyiv region, wrote on the Telegram app. Tkachenko did not provide details about what was hit in the strike late on Friday. Ukraine hits one of Russia’s biggest oil refineries in drone attack

People queue to refuel their cars at a Gazpromneft petrol station in Yaroslavl on July 15, 2026. Russia — one of the world’s largest oil producers — has introduced a swath of restrictions on petrol sales across the country, as Ukrainian strikes on its refineries, depots and logistics crimp domestic supply. Igor Ivanko | Afp | Getty Images Ukraine’s military on Thursday struck two Russian oil refineries hundreds of miles from its border, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said, as Kyiv continues to target the country’s energy infrastructure. Ukraine’s armed forces struck the Bashneft-Novoil refinery in Bashkortostan and the Slavneft-Yanos refinery in the Yaroslavl region, Zelenskyy said. In a post on social media, Zelenskyy said Ukraine’s long-range sanctions had “once again worked to limit Russia’s oil revenues, which it uses to finance the war and the killing of Ukrainians.” The Slavneft-Yanos facility in Yaroslavl, which is situated hundreds of miles from the Ukraine border and about 170 miles (274 kilometers) northeast of Moscow, is one of Russia’s biggest oil refineries. It has previously been targeted by Ukraine’s …

Libkos | Getty Images News | Getty Images Russia launched a massive wave of drone and ballistic missile strikes on Ukraine’s capital, killing at least 17 people and leaving 44 injured in one of the Kremlin’s deadliest attacks across Kyiv this year. The bombardment comes as each side ramps up air attacks on critical infrastructure and logistics hubs, with Ukrainian drones hitting more warehouses belonging to Amazon-style retailer Wildberries. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy offered his condolences to the families of those killed in Russia’s latest attack, saying the “heavy strike” featured 24 ballistic missiles, four Zircon/Oniks missiles and 115 drones. The main targets of the attack were warehouse facilities belonging to civilian businesses, Zelenskyy said Wednesday, alongside strikes on infrastructure and a railway station. “Ballistic missile interceptors could have saved the lives of those killed today. Ukraine fears toughest test since Russia’s full-scale invasion

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrives in the US ahead of talks with President Donald Trump in Washington, D.C, United States on July 28, 2026. Anadolu | Anadolu | Getty Images Ukrainian officials, drone executives and national security experts are bracing for another extremely difficult winter, fearing that a Russian assault on energy infrastructure could pose the toughest challenge of the war yet. From as early as April, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has emphasized the importance of ensuring that the country’s energy and infrastructure facilities are fully operational and reliably protected for the next heating season. Just last month, in the peak of the Ukrainian summer, Zelenskyy confirmed Sergii Koretskyi as Ukraine’s new prime minister and said the former CEO of state-owned gas company Naftogaz would help to protect lives “and ensure that we make it through the winter.” His comments come as Ukraine’s enhanced drone capabilities have sought to raise the cost of the war for Russia and test President Vladimir Putin’s resolve after four-and-a-half years of conflict. Russian forces have increased the number of …

U.S. has ‘not agreed to’ grant Ukraine Patriot missile licenses

US President Donald Trump speaks during a Cabinet meeting at Camp David in Maryland, on July 31, 2026. Aaron Schwartz | AFP | Getty Images President Donald Trump on Friday said the U.S. “has not agreed” to grant Ukraine licenses to produce Patriot missile systems, apparently backtracking on one of Kyiv’s top priorities in its war against Russia. The advanced military technology is “a hard thing to give away,” Trump said at a Cabinet meeting, adding that the country that receives it could “someday turn on you.” “You have to be very careful,” Trump said. He noted that the U.S. and Ukraine are still “talking about it.” Trump’s latest comments on the war in eastern Europe came three days after he spoke at the White House with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who said the leaders had a “good meeting” about the Patriot licenses. Less than three weeks earlier, Trump said at a NATO summit in Turkey that the U.S. would give Ukraine the licenses. But on Thursday, Trump told the Financial Times he was “not …

Zelensky Boasts Of Hits On 3 Russian ‘Shadow Fleet’ Tankers After Kiev Military Depot Leveled

Russia overnight and into early Sunday morning unleashed what Ukrainian officials have described as its largest barrage of ballistic missiles focused on Kiev of the war. Among the key targets was a large complex owned and operated by UKRTAC, a Ukrainian producer of military gear and personal protective equipment. Its manufacturing facilities and warehouses in the capital were destroyed in the assault. Ukrainian presidency’s office UKRTAC, confirmed on social media that facilities and production equipment were entirely wiped out due to a direct hit, but said there were no casualties at the plant. But elsewhere in the capital there were significant casualties, with at least one person killed and 16 others wounded. President Volodymyr Zelensky said Sunday it was one of the single biggest missile barrages of the war: A series of powerful explosions thundered across the darkened city in an attack that involved 41 missiles of various types and ravaged buildings across several districts. Also, Ukrainian foreign minister Andrii Sybiha has described the raid involved “around four dozen” ballistic missiles. However, Zelensky has said Ukrainian forces continue …

Reuters Ukrainian drones struck a major oil refinery in the city of Omsk in western Siberia, in what appears to be one of Kyiv’s deepest attacks on Russian territory since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Ukraine’s military general staff said Monday that the strike caused a fire at the facility, which is situated nearly 2,500 kilometers (1,553 miles) from Ukrainian territory and close to Russia’s border with Kazakhstan. The attack, which was confirmed by local Russian officials, provides further evidence of Kyiv’s enhanced long-range drone capabilities and comes on the eve of a crunch NATO summit. Heads of state from 32 countries are expected in Turkey’s capital from Tuesday for the two-day conference. “Today, our long-range sanctions reached the oil refinery in Omsk – nearly 2,500 kilometres from Ukraine,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in his daily evening address, according to a …

Genya Savilov | Afp | Getty Images The long-running Russia-Ukraine war appears to have entered a new phase after major developments over the weekend and ahead of a crunch NATO summit. In the last 72 hours, U.S. President Donald Trump purportedly held separate calls with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Ukrainian drones struck an oil terminal and port in St. Petersburg and the surrounding area and Russia launched its second large-scale attack on Kyiv in less than a week. The prospect of renewed diplomacy, alongside the risk of escalation, has put investors on notice at a time when markets are trying to price geopolitical risk, energy security and the integrity of Europe’s defense spending pledges. “There is a real prospect to put an end to this war, and America’s resolve is decisive,” Zelenskyy said in a social media post on …
