Harriet Sperling and Peter Phillips shared their first kiss as husband and wife as they emerged from the church after their Cotswolds wedding ceremony in front of members of the royal family.  The rain did not dampen the newlyweds’ spirits as they posed for photographs outside All Saints Church, which is located in Kemble, Cirencester, close to where bride Harriet grew up. The blushing bride, 45, chose a column-style dress with a lace neckline and sleeves, and a dramatic train designed by Emilia Wickstead. There had been speculation in the lead-up to the ceremony as to whether Harriet would wear a tiara, and she did not disappoint. Faced with a future either as a Handmaid or sentenced to death, Aunt Lydia (Ann Dowd) and Aunt Vidala (Mabel Li) thought of an alternative way of ensuring that Becka, one of their very own students, wouldn’t be punished. It wasn’t an outcome that Becka wanted and saw her mother (Kate Hewlett) confess to the murder herself, later being hung for the crime. Eight years after their magical Windsor wedding, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have marked their anniversary by releasing a selection of previously unseen photos from their big day. The couple, who tied the knot on 19 May 2018 at St George’s Chapel, are no doubt celebrating the milestone with their two children, Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, four, back home in Montecito, just days after Meghan’s trip to Geneva.  The post included several photos of the couple taking centre stage on the dance floor during the wedding reception, while another showed the pair sharing a passionate kiss while surrounded by their guests.  In a separate post, the Duchess of Sussex shared a carousel of snaps from the ceremony held at Windsor Castle, including one of the newly weds sharing a tender moment after their nuptials, and another behind-the-scenes photo of the pair having their official wedding portrait taken. Kissing feels so tied to human life that it can seem almost impossible to separate from romance, family, grief, ritual, or desire. It sits inside wedding vows and movie endings, in greetings, apologies, and quiet moments that do not need words. Yet mouth-to-mouth contact did not begin with people, and it does not belong to us alone. Across the animal kingdom, behaviors that look a lot like kissing appear in species as different as bonobos, prairie dogs, doves, wolves, and dogs. The meanings shift from one species to another. Some use it to calm tension. Others use it to recognize a familiar neighbor, court a mate, or signal submission. Humans may not be unique for kissing, only for the layers of feeling and symbolism we attach to it. A recent comparative analysis out of the University of Oxford pushes that idea much deeper into the past. Using a narrow definition, non-aggressive mouth-to-mouth contact between members of the same species, involving the lips or mouthparts and excluding food transfer, the researchers concluded that kissing likely reaches …

A legendary British actress has revealed the moment she was jokingly rebuked by Prince William after asking for a kiss. Emma Thompson had known the Prince of Wales for years when she received her damehood from him in November 2018, following a friendship with King Charles that stretched back to the 1990s. King Charles and Queen Camilla shared a very rare kiss on the lips as they concluded their State Visit to the US on Thursday.  The royals, who celebrated their 21st wedding anniversary earlier this month, will now go their separate ways, as the King is continuing solo to Bermuda.  The subtle yet meaningful smooch was captured by ITV’s Royal Family Channel on a livestream of their visit to a “block” street party in Virginia, to celebrate the 250th anniversary of US independence.  The couple was seen exchanging a brief smooch before getting into the car, surrounded by rapturous cheers and Union Jacks furiously being waved.  While they are not usually prone to displays of public affection, the King and Queen decided to make an exception as they will be parted for a few days, and thousands of miles apart.  It was the first opportunity Charles, 77, and Camilla, 78, had to meet members of the public during their four-day visit, with its formal protocol; as a result, they perhaps appeared slightly less guarded.  © WireImage …
