A Tesla owner posted dashcam footage of his car driving straight over a log lying across the road while running Full Self-Driving (FSD) v14.1 Lite, without braking or slowing down. The clip has more than 800,000 views, and it adds to a growing list of problems we’ve documented with Tesla’s “Lite” version of FSD on older Hardware 3 cars. In the video, posted by X user @donvarri on August 21, the car is on a wet, foggy rural road with the “Self-Driving” visualization active at 32 mph. A log sits across the lane. The Tesla runs right over it. No braking, no swerve. “Mine drove over a log in the road it def wouldn’t have stopped,” the owner wrote. He later confirmed the car is a Hardware 3 vehicle running the latest v14.1 Lite build. Electric scooters have long demonstrated an interesting dichotomy. On one end of the spectrum, you’ve got cheap commuter scooters that feel like they’re one pothole away from shaking themselves apart. On the other end are increasingly large, dual-motor monsters that weigh 80 or 100 pounds (45 kg) and blur the line between scooter and motorcycle. The VMAX VX2 Lite aims for the sweet spot in the middle. It promises a genuine full-suspension ride, respectable 25 mph (40 km/h) performance, and up to 56 miles (90 km) of claimed range without turning into something you dread carrying up a flight of stairs. After spending time riding the long-range version, I think VMAX got surprisingly close to that goal. A growing number of Tesla owners running the new Full Self-Driving v14 “Lite” build on Hardware 3 (HW3) vehicles are reporting Autopilot computer overheating alerts — and, in some cases, outright computer failures. The reports have stacked up in the two weeks since Tesla pushed v14 Lite to wide release, and four owners have contacted Electrek directly about the same problem. What FSD v14 Lite is doing to older hardware Tesla started rolling out FSD v14 Lite to HW3 cars in late June and pushed it to wide release with software version 2026.20.6.11 (FSD v14.3.6) on July 21. The build is a distilled version of the HW4 v14 model, squeezed down to run on the memory-constrained AI3 computer. That computer is the constraint: HW3 ships with 8GB of RAM and roughly one-eighth of HW4’s memory bandwidth, which is why Tesla was stuck running v12.6 on these cars for more than a year before the Lite build. Google is upgrading its AI image generation capabilities today with the debut of Nano Banana 2 (NB2) Lite, an optimized model built for rapid execution and tight infrastructure budgets. Technically designated as Gemini 3.1 Flash-Lite Image on Google’s application programming interface (API), NB2 Lite is positioned as the fastest and most cost-effective option within Google’s creative model family, capable of generating images in 4 seconds at a flat rate of $0.034 per 1,000 images. It’s available immediately to enterprise developers through Google AI Studio, the Gemini API, and the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform (GEAP). Tesla posted on X that it plans to expand FSD V14 Lite to HW3 vehicles in international markets — but only after the US rollout is complete and with no timeline attached. The vague commitment comes as HW3 owners across Europe and other international markets are in open revolt after Tesla launched FSD abroad exclusively for HW4-equipped vehicles.
