Meghan Trainor offloads $6.8m mansion after undergoing ‘heavy therapy’ and cancelling tour

Meghan Trainor has made a dramatic double move, offloading her sprawling Los Angeles mansion on the very same day she revealed she was cancelling her highly anticipated tour. The All About That Bass hitmaker, 32, quietly closed the deal on Thursday for $6,835,000 after the property spent barely a week on the market, according to reports. While the lightning-fast sale might raise eyebrows, the price tag represents only a modest gain for the singer, who purchased the estate in 2020 for $6.6 million. © Kevin Mazur/Getty Images for LivMeghan Trainor performs onstage at TD Pavillion Set across an impressive 14,164 square feet on more than an acre of land, the jaw-dropping home is every bit the A-list retreat. With seven bedrooms and 10 bathrooms, it offers not just space but serious star power, complete with a private recording studio, mirror-lined gym and even a full-size basketball court. But it’s the lifestyle touches that truly elevate the property. Outside, the estate leans fully into resort-style living, boasting a pool with a waterslide, spa, tennis court, putting green, fire …

The Mansion, the Heiress, the Jewel Heist, and Me: A Bel-Air Fairytale

The Mansion, the Heiress, the Jewel Heist, and Me: A Bel-Air Fairytale

Carla was just a toddler when Arnold moved the family from Chicago to Bel-Air, after his friend, dam and pioneering California highway builder Lynn Atkinson, defaulted on a personal loan from Kirkeby he’d taken to finish the dream home Atkinson had built for his wife. Now, the Kirkebys would live in the elaborate estate. Carla says her mother wasn’t thrilled about inhabiting the swanky home now known as “the Beverly Hillibillies house.” Carlotta felt the house was too big and extravagant. (Even though the home had been built for her, Atkinson’s wife had expressed a similar sentiment.) Nevertheless, the Kirkebys settled in and hired a nine-person staff, six of whom lived in the house. Carla says she wanted to learn to cook, but their chef—a 6-foot-tall Dane named Ida who served the family for over 40 years—barred her from the kitchen. Carla’s childhood reads like a transient fairytale. Though they were based in LA, her family also flitted between homes in Florida, New York, and Cuba, where Arnold owned the Hotel Nacional, which hosted the …

Kelly Osbourne’s battle to buy back MTV reality show mansion amid relationship heartbreak

Kelly Osbourne revealed her family’s efforts to repurchase the home where they filmed their early noughties MTV reality show, weeks after announcing her separation from her Slipknot fiancé.  The 41-year-old daughter of Black Sabbath’s Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne explained how she and her family had been trying to buy back the house in the iconic 90210 Beverly Hills postcode, but the new owners refused to sell.  Living at the 513 Doheny Road mansion while filming their iconic MTV reality show, The Osbournes, Kelly kick-started her on-screen career in the house alongside her parents and her brother, Jack.  Since her father’s death in July last year, the mum-of-one revealed she had been involved in plans to bring the infamous Mediterranean-style home back into the Osbournes’ lives.  The famous family first moved into the six-bedroom, nine-bathroom gated home in March 2002 and lived there until 2007, when the property was sold to pop star Christina Aguilera, who stayed in the home for four years.  During a chat with Omaze for their Homes That Made Me series, Kelly …

The Osbournes have tried 10 times to buy back Beverly Hills mansion

The Osbournes have tried to buy back their famous Beverly Hills mansion 10 times – but they keep being rejected. Kelly Osbourne has told how she and her relatives, mum Sharon Osbourne and brother Jack Osbourne, are keen to purchase the plush pad, where they filmed MTV reality TV show The Osbournes alongside Kelly and Jack’s father, late rocker Ozzy Osbourne, who died last year aged 76. Speaking in YouTube video Omaze Presents: Homes That Made Me with Kelly Osbourne, she said: “We’ve asked about 10 times if we can buy it back and they keep saying no, even though they’re never even there, the people who currently own it. “But it was a great house.” Kelly has “fond memories” of the abode, because it changed her life forever when she starred on The Osbournes, but she also recalls her mum Sharon going through a colon cancer battle while they lived at the property in 2002. She said: “That house will always be one of the best places we ever lived, and I have such …

Kanye West ordered to pay former contractor 0,000 for mansion work

Kanye West ordered to pay former contractor $140,000 for mansion work

A jury found Ye, the controversial music impresario formerly known as Kanye West, liable in the legal dispute brought by his former contractor and ordered him to pay $140,000. Tony Saxon, who also worked as Ye’s security guard and caretaker at the Malibu property, sued the rapper in Los Angeles Superior Court in September 2023, claiming a slate of labor violations, nonpayment of services and disability discrimination. The $140,000 judgment announced Wednesday is far less than the $1.7 million in damages that Saxon’s lawyers had originally requested. Ye will also have to pay for Saxon’s legal fees, which is expected to put the total sum that West will have to pay at more than $1 million. Although Saxon’s attorneys at the Los Angeles-based firm West Coast Trial Lawyers called the verdict a “mixed” one, they characterized it as as a “vindication for our client.” “Ye’s lawyers called him a liar, a fraud, and a malingerer in court. His medical records, bank records, and personal family history were dissected, mocked, and vilified,” said attorney Ronald Zambrano …

What to Make of the Gracie Mansion Incident

What to Make of the Gracie Mansion Incident

On Saturday, a far-right group organized a sparsely attended anti-Muslim demonstration outside of Gracie Mansion, the home of New York City’s first Muslim mayor, Zohran Mamdani. A “Stand Against Hate” counterprotest attracted far more people, but perhaps the only reason Americans know about these events at all is because two men threw homemade bombs at the Islamophobic demonstrators. Authorities say the suspects told police officers they were inspired by the Islamic State, an Islamist terrorist group. “This was not random violence. This was a planned attack motivated by extremist ideology and inspired by a violent foreign terrorist organization,” New York Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch said at a press conference yesterday. With this, she promptly raised the profile of both the suspects, Emir Balat and Ibrahim Kayumi, and of ISIS itself. It hardly seemed to matter that no evidence has surfaced that directly ties these men to the larger movement. This case drives home some of the challenges of counterterrorism efforts today: The bold mission of international terrorist groups can motivate bad actors, even those who …

Kanye ‘Ye’ West Struggles to Stay Awake During LA Mansion Trial

Kanye ‘Ye’ West Struggles to Stay Awake During LA Mansion Trial

Ye, the rapper formerly known as Kanye West, had a tough day in court on Friday as he reportedly struggled to stay awake while on the witness stand in the trial over his former Malibu mansion. Appearing during the second week of the trial in a Los Angeles courtroom, the rapper-producer-designer “repeatedly yawned, closed his eyes for long stretches and at times seemed to catch his head falling forward,” Rolling Stone‘s Nancy Dillon reported on Friday. “I don’t recall,” the rapper answered when attorneys questioned him about the work done on the mansion, which was designed by Japanese architect Tadao Ando, who is renowned for his work incorporating architecture and landscape, and “gutted” by the rapper as he attempted to transform the architectural marvel into a disaster. Ye bought the estate for $57 million in 2021 and sold it at a massive loss, unloading the estate for $21 million in 2024. Amid Ye’s seemingly sleepy performance on the stand, the lawyer representing the plaintiff reportedly turned away from the stand and mouthed, “Is he asleep?” …
