A star rating of 4 out of 5. High concept doesn’t always equal high quality – we like sharks! We like tornadoes! Job done! But in this instance “dinosaurs in the suburbs” works a dream. It’s a loving homage to Steven Spielberg and The End of Oak Street less rips off Jurassic Park, ET and Jaws and more relies on audiences’ love for those films and the nostalgia they are imbued with to bring a fresh take to the ‘Spielburbia’ sub-genre. In the hands of director David Robert Mitchell, who made breakout horror hit It Follows, this is a moving, funny and thrilling family-friendly 12A romp, which still has a murky dark heart at the centre. Set (initially) in 1982, Oak Street lies in a friendly neighbourhood of kids on bikes, perfect lawns sullied by naughty dogs, school bullies and hot new high-schoolers. The most memorable performance in the opening days of this year’s Venice Dance Biennale had barely any dance in it at all. Italian choreographer Andrea Salustri’s Invisible is built around movement, but it’s movement of light, air, water and sound waves, with Salustri and co-creator Alice Rende as shadowy figures conducting the elements. They brew up storms like Zeus and Poseidon, with flashing veins of light, sounds of pummelling rain (in fact small drips and bubbles amplified by powerful microphones) and an enormous amount of billowing smoke that ultimately whips itself into a spinning tornado. July 13 : Conor McGregor, whose much-anticipated return to the octagon ended after 69 seconds with a knee injury at the weekend, said on Monday he will have surgery and hopes to fight again. The former two-weight world champion suffered the injury in the opening moments of his fight with Max Holloway on Saturday in Las Vegas when he landed awkwardly after attempting a jump kick. McGregor tried to fight on for a few seconds but looked towards the referee to signal he could not continue. “All things work out for my good! All things are possible for me because I am a believer!” McGregor wrote on Instagram. “Surgery. Prehab. Return to martial arts practice. Go again. Final fight of the contract. Jimmy Fallon’s recent interview with MMA fighter Conor McGregor has received backlash from viewers, including The Addams Family star Christina Ricci. The host of The Tonight Show brought McGregor on as a guest to discuss his return to UFC.  This comes two years after the fighter was found liable by 12 jurors in a civil case after Nikita Hand accused him of raping her in a Dublin hotel back in 2018. He was ordered to pay £206,000 in damages, though McGregor denies that he raped Hand, saying they had “fully consensual sex”.  Before the civil case, Ireland’s Director of Public Prosecutions made the decision not to bring criminal charges to McGregor due to insufficient evidence. Two later appeals weredismissed. In 2024, a 12-person jury found McGregor liable in a civil case after Nikita Hand accused him of raping her in a Dublin hotel back in 2018.  He was ordered to pay the equivalent of £206,000 in damages. Before the civil case, Ireland’s Director of Public Prosecutions decided not to bring criminal charges due to insufficient evidence, the BBC reported. McGregor denied he assaulted Hand, saying they had “fully consensual sex”. Two later appeals weredismissed. A gynaecologist and forensic examiner who attended to Hand in a Dublin hospital said during the trial that she was left “shaking and crying” by the incident, and also testified that she had extensive bruising and that he had to remove her “wedged” tampon with forceps.
