Princess Kate melts hearts in Italy as children cling to her during emotional school visit

The Princess of Wales was mobbed by young children on a visit to an Italian preschool after spending the morning with them exploring nature in the grounds.  Kate, who had again introduced herself as “Caterina”, was hugged and held onto by the children after posing for a group photograph with pupils and staff at the Salvador Allende pre-school on the outskirts of Reggio Emilia.  Wearing a blazer by Italian brand Blaize Milano and a fabric bracelet by Atelier Malayan, a small label based in Milan, the Princess practised her Italian with children aged three to six and joined them for activities including handling newts from the pond, rolling “tree roots” from clay and marvelling at the school’s peaceful outdoor setting.  © Getty ImagesThe Princess of Wales visited an Italian preschool on Thursday Although the visit had not been announced in advance, several hundred people had gathered in the street opposite the school and began the chant of “Kate, Kate, Kate!” and “Kate, we love you!” as she arrived. She was welcomed to the pre-school’s outdoor …

‘Melts into an oozy blob’: the best supermarket brie, tasted and rated | Cheese

Brie and baguette is one of life’s simplest pleasures, to be enjoyed anywhere from a park bench to halfway up a mountain, and with no knife or kit required. It’s a soft, white, mould-ripened cheese made from raw or pasteurised cow’s milk, and has a characteristically soft texture. The Guardian’s journalism is independent. Gently warmed milk is separated into curds with rennet, then inoculated with Penicillium candidum (sometimes called P camemberti), which gives it that characteristic flavour and white mould rind. It’s then transferred to moulds, salted and ripened for a month or longer. It originally hails from the Brie region in northern France. I tasted each cheese at room temperature, after giving it at least an hour’s rest. That’s because packaging, long storage and refrigeration tend to intensify the natural farmyardy ammonia created by the ripening process, and by giving the cheese time to breathe, those intense aromas soften and dissipate. It’s my ambition to judge the World Cheese Awards …

Megyn Kelly Melts Down Over Bad Bunny: The Super Bowl Shouldn’t Be “Spanish” or “Muslim”

Megyn Kelly Melts Down Over Bad Bunny: The Super Bowl Shouldn’t Be “Spanish” or “Muslim”

On Monday, Megyn Kelly appeared on Piers Morgan’s YouTube show for what was supposed to be a friendly debate over Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl performance the previous night. But after some gentle banter about Morgan’s recent hip replacement surgery, the conservative pundit launched into an impassioned monologue about her disdain for the Puerto Rican rapper that quickly went viral. The host of The Megyn Kelly Show turned red in the face over the course of her nearly 10-minute rant. Kelly began by noting that she was upset because the rapper, born Benito Martínez Ocasio, has spoken out against Donald Trump’s immigration policies, including during a Grammy speech on February 1, in which he decried ICE’s impact on Latino communities. Later, though, Kelly argued that Bad Bunny’s fully-in-Spanish performance at the Super Bowl amounted to an insult to “the heartland,” the home of people who supposedly don’t want to see anything other than old-fashioned, English-language American culture. “We have 310 million [people in the US] who don’t speak a lick of Spanish. This is supposed to …

Rescue dog melts hearts with her reaction to kiss from new owner

Rescue dog melts hearts with her reaction to kiss from new owner

A heartwarming dog has touched hearts after expressing gratitude to her owner for offering her a fresh start. Owner Kayleen Tebon explained how she began fostering Heidi, an 11 year old labradoodle, on December 31. It wasn’t long before the lovable pup secured a place in her heart, prompting her to adopt her permanently. Sadly, Heidi was rescued from a backyard breeder – and has probably endured a difficult life where she was deprived of everything a dog finds rewarding. Kayleen, from Arizona, US, told Newsweek: “She was in terrible condition. Super skinny and very skittish and afraid of people.” Following weeks of attempting to earn her trust, Kayleen was finally able to get near enough to give her a kiss on the head on January 23 – and Heidi’s response filled her heart with delight.
