The first electric iX5 will have a massive battery, the largest in a BMW EV yet, that could offer a range of over 500 miles on a single charge. When is BMW launching the first iX5 EV? BMW is putting the new X5, including the electric iX5, through its final calibration tests at its manufacturing plant in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The fifth-generation X5 marks the debut of the first fully electric version, the iX5 60 xDrive. Like the new iX3, it will use BMW’s sixth-generation (Gen6) eDrive system with an 800V architecture. BMW said the Gen6 electric drive delivers 30% faster charging speeds and a 30% increase in driving range compared to its current system. Using vast underground networks, the fungi offer vegetation nutrients and water in exchange for their carbon. The fungi then siphon the carbon into the soil, supporting pretty much all life on the planet. In particularly healthy conditions, AM fungi webs can boost plant roots’ foraging area by 100 times while providing over 80 percent of its needed phosphorus. A huge explosion lit up the skies above Russia’s Belgorod region on Monday, sending a vast plume of smoke into the air and triggering reports of injuries and widespread damage. Dramatic footage shared online showed a towering cloud rising above the area as debris appeared to fall back to the ground following the blast. The exact cause remains unclear. Local reports initially suggested a Russian aerial bomb may have fallen in the area, while later accounts speculated that a Ukrainian drone strike could have hit an ammunition storage site, setting off a major detonation. Neither explanation had been independently confirmed. Regional officials described the incident as a “detonation”, while emergency services continued to assess the situation.
