A second man has appeared in court charged with murder after a young father was shot dead last year. Jordan Gray, 26, suffered fatal firearm wounds in his home in Shields Court, Motherwell, on the evening of 14 December 2025. His body was discovered the following day. Image: Mr Gray. He was re-arrested following the execution of a warrant on Tuesday and appeared before Hamilton Sheriff Court on Wednesday. Gordon, of Motherwell in North Lanarkshire, made no plea to the single charge of murder. The suspect was remanded in custody and is due back in the dock within the next eight days. Co-accused Robert Clark, 58, appeared before the same court last month and is facing charges of murder and carrying a firearm in a public place. A reward of up to £20,000 has been offered for information in the hunt for a killer who shot a young father dead in “cold blood”. Jordan Gray, 26, was killed at his home in Shields Court, in the town of Motherwell, North Lanarkshire, on Sunday 14 December. His body was discovered the following day. Sky News understands a shotgun was used in the shooting. Crimestoppers said despite weeks of extensive enquiries, the firearm is yet to be recovered and the killer remains at large. Longstanding questions about an episode surrounding a Robert Motherwell painting in Spain have finally been answered: the Franco regime really did try to censor the Abstract Expressionist’s work, proposing an altered title for one work with a name that explicitly referred to the Spanish Republic. The drama centered around Elegy to the Spanish Republic No. 35 (1954–58), one of more than one 150 paintings in a series of abstractions that obliquely refer to the Spanish Civil War via black ovals and expanses of white.
