Taskmaster twins reveal “raw and organic” experience on Channel 4 series

Taskmaster twins reveal “raw and organic” experience on Channel 4 series

Taskmaster has provided viewers with plenty of laughs over the seasons, particularly from the comics who appear and the interesting tasks they attempt. Take season 20 episode 3, Thompson, for example. A task brief was laid on the table in the living room, in which the celebrities had to discover the name of the person in the lab, a separate room mere seconds down the hallway. Split into teams, they had to take it in turns to ask one question, and the person in the lab can only say yes or no. Seems simple? It may well have been, were it not for the fact that there were two people in the lab, not one! Twins Lyndsey and Louise (who recently appeared on ITV’s The Neighbourhood) would swap places each time, stumping the celebrities along the way. A hilarious watch for audiences at home and a blast for the twins themselves, the pair told Radio Times that the best part wasn’t even the task but actually seeing the Taskmaster production in action. Want to see …

How handcuffed Prisoner stars built “organic and real chemistry”

How handcuffed Prisoner stars built “organic and real chemistry”

Being handcuffed to someone for four months doesn’t exactly sound like a walk in the park for the closest of people, but when it comes to a brand new co-lead that you also have to act alongside and perform stunts with? Well, that certainly sounds like a challenge. That’s how things played out for co-leads Izuka Hoyle (Big Boys) and Tahar Rahim (The Serpent) as they filmed Prisoner, Sky’s latest thriller series that comes from Hostage writer Matt Charman. But how did being cuffed together impact the role, if at all? When chatting exclusively with Radio Times, Hoyle revealed: “Definitely, it added another level of challenge, but also like intimacy – and quick, right? Because Tahar and I, we met at stunt rehearsals. We didn’t have an introduction before that so we literally said hello to each other and then we were cuffed. “But luckily, we really, really get on. And you know, I think it shows in the chemistry between the characters because we built such an organic and real chemistry between each other. …

NASA’s Curiosity rover detects never-before-seen organic compounds on Mars

NASA’s Curiosity rover detects never-before-seen organic compounds on Mars

A drill hole in an ancient Martian rock has yielded something more complicated than a simple yes-or-no answer about life. NASA’s Curiosity rover has identified a broad mix of organic molecules on Mars, including compounds tied to sulfur, oxygen and nitrogen, along with chemicals that scientists see as important to life’s chemistry on Earth. One of the most intriguing signals came from a nitrogen-bearing molecule with a structure similar to compounds used to build DNA. Another was benzothiophene, a sulfur-containing molecule that had not been firmly confirmed on Mars before. That does not mean life once existed there. It does mean Mars can preserve fragile chemical clues for a very long time. “We think we’re looking at organic matter that’s been preserved on Mars for 3.5 billion years,” said Amy Williams, a geological sciences professor at the University of Florida who led the study and works on both the Curiosity and Perseverance rover missions. “It’s really useful to have evidence that ancient organic matter is preserved, because that is a way to assess the habitability …

Integrating consumer perspectives into organic farming

Integrating consumer perspectives into organic farming

Mariano Votta and Bianca Ferraiolo of Cittadinanzattiva – Active Citizenship Network explore how an EU workshop in Rome explores how consumer insights can shape the future of organic farming. On 29 and 30 April, Cittadinanzattiva – Active Citizenship Network (ACN) will host in Rome, Italy, an EU workshop titled “Responding to consumers’ needs in organic farming: a qualitative assessment“. Policy context and targets Organised within the framework of the Organic Farming Innovations Network Europe (OH-FINE) project, the event will bring together consortium members, independent experts, representatives of national civil and consumer associations from several European countries, as well as leaders of the EU umbrella consumer association European Consumer Union (ECU), to discuss the practical integration of end-user needs into the organic supply chain. The European Union’s Green Deal and “Farm to Fork” strategy have set an ambitious target: 25% of EU agricultural land under organic farming by 2030. To reach this, the current growth rate must double. However, the transition is not merely a technical hurdle for farmers; it is a social and economic evolution …

Best Sheets Under 0 and 0 (2026): Cotton, Bamboo, Organic

Best Sheets Under $200 and $100 (2026): Cotton, Bamboo, Organic

Courtesy of Slumber Cloud Slumber Cloud Performance Tencel Sheet Set Another category that usually costs more is good cooling sheets. This isn’t a requirement to stay cool; I’d say the Buffy percale sheets in the cotton section of this story are an excellent cooling sheet since percale is such a breathable weave. But if you’re looking for something with cooling technology—better known as PCM, or phase change material that promises to change heat into cool—then there’s nothing better than SlumberCloud’s Performance Tencel Sheet Set. It uses Tencel, a brand of lyocell fabric, plus Slumber Cloud’s patented Outlast fiber, which uses phase change material gel to absorb heat. It’s both soft and lightweight, and I found myself downright chilly when sleeping on these, which is an impressive feat for hot sleepers like myself. Honorable Mentions Here are more sets I loved that cost a little more. If budget isn’t an issue for you, these are worth exploring. I loved Coyuchi’s Cloud Soft Sateen Sheet Set ($278) not just because it lives up to the soft name …

JWST finds a surprise flood of organic molecules in a hidden galaxy

JWST finds a surprise flood of organic molecules in a hidden galaxy

Deep inside a nearby galaxy, a black hole sits behind a thick wall of dust. Almost all its light gets trapped. Yet the chemistry inside that buried core still leaves tracks you can read, if you look in the right kind of light. That is what a new study in Nature Astronomy delivers. The work was led by the Center for Astrobiology (CAB), CSIC-INTA, with key modeling techniques developed by researchers at the University of Oxford. Lead author Dr. Ismael García Bernete, formerly at Oxford and now at CAB, worked with Oxford physicist Professor Dimitra Rigopoulou and a wider team spanning Spain and the U.K. Using the James Webb Space Telescope, the scientists aimed at IRAS 07251–0248, an ultra-luminous infrared galaxy. Its eastern nucleus is so dust-choked that visible light and even X-rays struggle to escape. Infrared light can slip through better, letting you probe places that once looked like blank spots. James Webb Space Telescope Near-infrared Camera (JWST NIRCam) false colour image of IRAS07251-0248, made by combining exposures with the 2 mm (Blue), 2.77 …

Best Organic Mattresses (2026): Birch, Avocado, Naturepedic, More

Organic bedding brand Coyuchi recently launched its own organic mattress, combining cotton, wool, and Dunlop latex atop individually wrapped coils. While Coyuchi’s linen sheets are excellent, I was a little nervous to try the company’s first mattress effort. Bedding is not a mattress, after all, and expertise does not always transfer across endeavors. In this case, though, it did. Coyuchi’s organic Natural REM Mattress is wonderfully firm without being too firm and perfect for those of us who lack a sleeping style and tend to sleep every which way—side, back, stomach. I was never uncomfortable. The design starts with encased coils on a wool pad and then, like a Midwestern dip, layers in smaller coils, latex, and then wool, and tops it off with an organic cotton cover. There’s surprisingly good edge support considering the distance between the coils and the top, and the mattress provides good motion isolation as well. Coyuchi says the Natural REM can be used with or without a box spring. I tested it for a few months on a box …

This organic cotton weighted blanket is a soothing sofa addition

This organic cotton weighted blanket is a soothing sofa addition

What is the Karmara Karma Switch weighted blanket? Weighted blankets are said to have therapeutic properties for better sleep and to calm anxiety. In our roundup of the best, the Karmara Karma Switch was named our Best Buy. It came out on top thanks to its soothing, comfortable design and its ability to mould to the body to provide deep pressure stimulation (DPS,) similar to the feeling of a firm hug or being swaddled. Amid a sea of polyester weighted blanket designs, I like that the Karma Switch is made from breathable, organic cotton. The cover is removable and washable, and its design feels evenly balanced and not too heavy – more on that below. Priced at £140, it is more expensive than your average weighted blanket, but its considerate design is worth the extra spend. Upgrading your bedding? Check out our guides to the best duvets, mattresses and pillows too. JUMP TO: Having tested 17 weighted blankets for our full round up, I know what makes a comfortable and convenient design.
