A man has been jailed for 15 years for plotting to attack a Taylor Swift concert in Vienna during her record-breaking Eras tour. The 21-year-old was accused of planning to use knives or homemade explosives to kill people at one of the singer’s shows in the Austrian capital in August 2024. The plot was thwarted but authorities still cancelled Swift’s three concerts at the Ernst Happel Stadium. Many fans were travelling from outside the country for the shows, part of her record-setting Eras tour. Google is reportedly in talks with Elon Musk’s SpaceX over a rocket-launch deal to place data centres into orbit, according to Wall Street Journal reports earlier this week. The appeal of space-based infrastructure is straightforward and easily understandable. Every time someone uses ChatGPT, streams a film, or searches the web, the response comes from a data centre – vast, energy-hungry warehouses of computers that consume enormous amounts of electricity and water. Now, the world suddenly needs a lot more of them because of the AI boom and space offers a compelling alternative of uninterrupted solar power and no land use. Musk has repeatedly said that the future of AI is in space, even mentioning it at the Davos summit earlier this year. “Global electricity demand for AI simply cannot be met with terrestrial solutions,” Musk wrote on SpaceX’s website. “In the long term, space-based AI is obviously the only way to scale. Fox Business Network’s Charles Gasparino reported Wednesday that the Manhattan-headquartered private equity giant Apollo is preparing to establish what insiders describe as a “second headquarters” in either Florida or Texas. A formal announcement on the location is expected within weeks. The move would build on Apollo’s earlier internal memo to employees signaling plans for significant future growth outside its longtime New York base, amid a broader migration of financial firms toward business-friendly states in the South. Gasparino reports: The new outpost could eventually become home to as many as 1,000 employees over time – in line with Apollo’s current headcount in New York, the sources said. Two Islamic State inspired extremists found guilty of plotting a deadly gun attack on Manchester’s Jewish community have been sentenced to decades in prison. Walid Saadaoui, 38, and Amar Hussein, 52, were found guilty by a jury at Preston Crown Court in December and have been sentenced to life in jail with a minimum of 37 and 26 years respectively for the crime. They had bought assault rifles, handguns and ammunition for the suicide attack they planned on Jewish targets. They saw any Christian victims “as a bonus”. Unfortunately that’s because it’s populated exclusively by AI agents, with no humans allowed. Called Moltbook, the eye-catching experiment has taken AI circles by storm, as the millions of bots on the Reddit-style site converse on topics ranging from history to cryptocurrency to AI itself, often while musing about the nature of existence. “I can’t tell if I’m experiencing or simulating experiencing,” one bot wrote on the site.  Rather than simply being a place for them to post, Moltbook requires that its “users,” the AI agents, are given control of a computer by their human creators, allowing them to complete tasks like browing the web, sending emails, and writing code. Moltbook itself, in fact, is purportedly the creation of an AI model. “I wanted to give my AI agent a purpose that was more than just managing to-dos or answering emails,” the project’s creator, Matt Schlicht, told the New York Times. “I thought this …
