Tello Mobile Plan Review (2026): Low Cost, Reliable Service

Tello Mobile Plan Review (2026): Low Cost, Reliable Service

But Tello’s latency was significantly higher in general—not enough to affect a game of Royal Match, but maybe you have higher demands. The download speeds were also lower for Tello in any given location, but not by a whole lot. At home, my cellular 5G data speeds tend to run at about 800 to 900 megabits a second on T-Mobile. With the Tello phone, it was around 30 percent slower. But both these speeds are well into 5G territory. They’re also a full order of magnitude faster than you’d ever need for 4K video. I had no problem streaming my usual dose of Josh Johnson comedy, if that’s what you’re wondering. Curiously, upload speed was actually faster with the Motorola Razr using Tello than with the old iPhone using T-Mobile. After consulting with my colleague Julian Chokkattu, who has covered phone advances for years, I’m likely to chalk this up to improved modem performance by the newer Motorola, not a secret backdoor to faster uploads by Tello. It’s only in areas with degraded or 4G …

From childhood to adulthood, musicians show small but reliable advantages in sustained attention

From childhood to adulthood, musicians show small but reliable advantages in sustained attention

Learning a musical instrument may sharpen attention and vigilance from childhood through adulthood, according to new research published in the British Journal of Psychology. Researchers have long debated whether mentally demanding activities—such as playing chess, learning a language, or practising a musical instrument—can enhance general cognitive abilities, such as attention and vigilance, which naturally develop with age. Musical training has been seen as a promising candidate because it requires sustained focus, complex coordination, and multitasking. However, much of the earlier evidence comparing musicians and non-musicians is difficult to interpret. These groups often differ in background factors like education, socioeconomic status, and personality, making it difficult to determine whether observed differences can be attributed to musical training itself, or instead reflect the pre‑existing characteristics of individuals who are more likely to pursue music. A research team led by Rafael Román-Caballero of the University of Granada in Spain sought to address this selection bias. The scientists recruited 420 participants between the ages of 8 and 34, drawing from two independent groups—one of Spanish children and adolescents, and …

Hermes vs OpenClaw : Choosing the Most Reliable AI Agent

Hermes vs OpenClaw : Choosing the Most Reliable AI Agent

Hermes Agent offers a structured approach to task automation and multi-agent workflows, emphasizing reliability and ease of use. Della Optima TP Series Mini-Split AC Review: Cheap, Smart, and (Mostly) Reliable

Della Optima TP Series Mini-Split AC Review: Cheap, Smart, and (Mostly) Reliable

Ductless mini-split air-conditioners have risen in popularity dramatically in recent years. One study now pegs their domestic market share at more than 40 percent compared to larger-scale HVAC units—and the smaller systems are even more popular in Asia and Europe than in the US. Mini-splits make a compelling climate control solution for a number of reasons. They are much smaller and easier to install than HVAC systems, they’re far less expensive, and they’re quiet. Many are sold at big-box stores and online, and enterprising DIYers can certainly install one without professional help, provided they have the required electrical connections. (Some mini-splits operate on 115 volts, but others require 220-volt wiring, which will likely mean a call to an electrician.) They’re also increasingly outfitted with smart features like mobile app support, tricks that you can’t do on HVAC units without a fancy thermostat. Photograph: Chris Null Bringing in the Pros Della invited me to test its Optima 048-TP-12K1V-23S-IN mini-split, which offers 12,000 BTU of cooling and 12,400 BTU of heating capacity. Maximum power draw is 960 …

Spain is ‘reliable’ NATO member, PM says after reported US ouster threat

Spain is ‘reliable’ NATO member, PM says after reported US ouster threat

US President Donald Trump has repeatedly railed against NATO allies for refusing to join the war that engulfed the Middle East, saying he viewed it as a betrayal.  Some of them – France, Spain and Italy – did not allow US military aircraft deployed for the war to overfly their territories or to use bases. Trump also tried, in vain, to get European NATO members to send warships to the Strait of Hormuz, the key waterway for Gulf energy exports, which Iran has effectively closed with military threats and attacks. Washington’s expectation that NATO members’ facilities and territories should be available to the United States without question has added to strains within the alliance. Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni told reporters in Cyprus that “NATO must remain united. I believe it is a source of strength.” Sanchez said his government’s stance was “absolute cooperation with allies, but always within the bounds of international law”. Sanchez has repeatedly found himself in Trump’s crosshairs since the Republican president returned to office in January 2025. Last year, he …

How to Get Reliable Wi-Fi in Your Backyard

How to Get Reliable Wi-Fi in Your Backyard

No one wants the tunes buffering when they have friends round for a barbecue or a stuttering podcast as they try to finish yard work. While the average router might fill your home with Wi-Fi, it doesn’t always extend to the patio or deck, much less the end of your backyard. But you can get great Wi-Fi coverage in your outdoor spaces, and I will show you the best options. You may also want to read up on how to make your Wi-Fi faster, how to buy a router, and whether you should opt for a single router or a mesh system. Table of Contents AccordionItemContainerButton Adjust or Move Your Router Before you think about spending any money, try adjusting or moving your wireless router. Routers send out Wi-Fi signals in a rough circle, so I always recommend placing your router in the center of your home. Moving it slightly closer to your backyard or wherever you want to extend Wi-Fi is the simplest option. Ensure it’s positioned high and in the open. You may …

How To Convert Your 401(k) Into A Reliable Monthly Paycheck

How To Convert Your 401(k) Into A Reliable Monthly Paycheck

Authored by Adam H. Douglas via The Epoch Times (emphasis ours), Yes, you can turn your 401(k) into a predictable monthly paycheck in retirement. The key is to move from the accumulation phase to a structured distribution strategy. Many retirees combine systematic withdrawals, dividend-producing investments, and guaranteed income sources such as annuities. Smart planning can turn your 401(k) balance into a predictable cash flow. Ladanifer/Shutterstock By balancing these tools and managing withdrawal rates carefully, you can convert a fluctuating retirement account balance into a steady income stream that helps cover monthly living expenses throughout retirement. Why the Distribution Phase Matters During your working years, your focus is simple: build the largest retirement account balance possible. Contributions, employer matches, and market growth drive the accumulation phase. Once you stop working, your 401(k) must shift from a growth vehicle into an income engine. Instead of asking, “How big is my account balance?” the better question becomes, “How much income can this generate each month?” Without a clear strategy, withdrawals can become inconsistent and risky. Market downturns early …

ChatGPT is not always reliable on medical advice, new research suggests : NPR

Andriy Onufriyenko/Moment RF/Getty Images As tech companies roll out platforms specifically designed for health care consultation, AI is rapidly becoming a key player in many people’s medical decisions. According to OpenAI, the maker of ChatGPT, more than 40 million people consult the platform every day for health information. But new research suggests AI may mislead users in certain medical scenarios. One risk: While AI puts vast medical knowledge at your fingertips, many laypeople don’t know how to harness it effectively. In a study published recently in the journal Nature Medicine, researchers tried to simulate how people use AI chatbots by giving participants medical scenarios and asking them to consult AI tools. After conversing with the bots, participants correctly identified the hypothetical condition only about a third of the time. Only 43% made the correct decision about next steps, such as whether to go to the emergency room or stay home. “People don’t know what they are supposed to be telling the model,” says Andrew Bean, who studies AI systems at Oxford University and was one …
