Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor faced with biggest hint yet that he will be removed from line of succession

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor is facing the biggest hint to date that he could be removed from the line of succession.  The disgraced former Prince, 66, was visited by Richard Benyon, the Lord Chamberlain of the Royal Household, on Monday. Lord Benyon was seen visiting Andrew at Wood Farm, the former Duke’s temporary home on the Sandringham estate, for around two hours, before driving out of the estate. Lord Benyon has served as Lord Chamberlain of the Household since 2024, replacing ex-MI5 Director General Lord Parker of Minsmere. The former Conservative MP is effectively head of the Royal Household and the main channel of communication between the monarch and the House of Lords, involved with arranging the state opening of Parliament and other administrative projects.  As an Act of Parliament is required to alter the line of succession, it could signal that talks are underway. However, what was discussed has not been confirmed.   King Charles, meanwhile, has been staying at the Royal estate since Friday, but is not thought to have seen Andrew in the last …

Royal family line of succession: Could Andrew be removed?

Royal family line of succession: Could Andrew be removed?

Pressure is mounting on the British government to remove Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor from the Royal line of succession, after he was arrested following the release of the Epstein files. Australia’s PM Anthony Albanese told Keir Starmer he would support moves to remove Andrew from the line of succession, amid news that Parliamentarians could introduce legislation to do so. James Murray, Chief Secretary to the Treasury, recently told Sky News: “The government is considering any further steps that might be required, and we’re not ruling anything out.” However, he also suggested that any efforts to remove the disgraced prince from the line of succession would not happen immediately due to the live police investigation. Andrew, who lost his royal titles last year, was arrested on February 19 on suspicion of misconduct in public office. It came not long after a fresh batch of Epstein documents shed more light on Andrew’s relationship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Although he has been stripped of his titles, Andrew still technically remains in line for the throne. So what exactly …

Has the British Museum really removed references to ‘Palestine’ from exhibits?

Has the British Museum really removed references to ‘Palestine’ from exhibits?

The latest scandal brewing about the British Museum centres on its choice to remove references to “Palestine” from the information panels on several displays, as first reported by several media outlets in mid-February.  The story quickly sparked headlines around the world.  “The name ‘Palestine’ was removed from all the exhibits in the British Museum,” reads a February 16 Facebook post shared by the French-language edition of AJ+, a publication of Qatari media outlet Al Jazeera. For its part, Agence Média Palestine reported that the British Museum removed references to Palestine “from its exhibits under pressure from a pro-Israel group”. The social media accounts of several English and French language outlets were also quick to share the news. Pure TV+ – whose misleading posts we’ve reported on in the past – declared to its 200,000 Facebook followers that the British Museum decided “under pressure from a pro-Israeli group” to “delete all references to ‘Palestine’ from its exhibits”. Turns out, the British Museum is still using the term ‘Palestine’ In reality, the British Museum still uses the term “Palestine” …

Scruggs/NPR The Justice Department has withheld some Epstein files related to allegations that President Trump sexually abused a minor, an NPR investigation finds. It also removed some documents from the public database where accusations against Jeffrey Epstein also mention Trump. Some files have not been made public despite a law mandating their release. These include what appears to be more than 50 pages of FBI interviews, and notes from conversations with a woman who accused Trump of sexual abuse decades ago when she was a minor. NPR reviewed multiple sets of unique serial numbers appearing before and after the pages in question, stamped onto documents in the Epstein files database, FBI case records, emails and discovery document logs in the latest tranche of documents published at the end of January. NPR’s investigation found dozens of …

In December, one CHS student died in an accident; another young person, enrolled at a private school but known to many CHS students, died by suicide the same month. Missouri attorney general orders illegal gaming machines removed statewide amid crackdown

Missouri attorney general orders illegal gaming machines removed statewide amid crackdown

Missouri’s top law enforcement official is telling businesses across the state to get rid of slot-style gaming machines immediately, saying they are illegal under current law. Attorney General Catherine L. Hanaway delivered that message Thursday (February 19) in a video posted to X and during testimony before lawmakers. Her warning follows a recent federal court decision concluding that similar devices violate Missouri’s gambling statutes. In a February 13 ruling, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri determined that so-called “video lottery terminals” placed in bars, gas stations and convenience stores fit the state’s definition of illegal gambling devices or machines when they operate outside licensed casinos. There is no gray market. C-stores need to remove these machines TODAY. They are illegal and law enforcement is coming after them. pic.twitter.com/TZdtEX5aAF — Attorney General Catherine L. Hanaway (@AGCHanaway) February 19, 2026 “My goal is to enforce the law. Whatever you all say the law is,” Hanaway said in a video, “Right now the law says these machines are illegal.” She tied the issue to …

Wood storks to be removed from federal Endangered Species List

Get the Popular Science daily newsletter💡 Breakthroughs, discoveries, and DIY tips sent six days a week. After over 40 years of recovery efforts, one population of the wood stork (Mycteria americana)is being removed from the federal list of endangered and threatened wildlife. The large birds are as tall as 45 inches with wingspans that can reach 65 inches and are the only native storks in the United States. They are primarily found in the southeastern United States, where they feed on fish.  Wood storks were listed as endangered in 1984, when its population had dropped by over 75 percent—from roughly 20,000 nesting pairs to about 5,000 nesting pairs—primarily due to wetland loss.  The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) has determined that the birds are no longer in immediate danger of extinction. The FWS estimates that the wood stork breeding population has 10,000 to 14,000 nesting pairs across roughly 100 colony sites. They are now found on the coastal plains of Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina.  Dedicated conservation efforts and the …

For the financial year ending 2025, NHS hospitals performed 56,143 tooth extractions on children up to 19 years old, marking a 14 per cent rise from the previous year. Of these, 33,976 were specifically due to tooth decay, an 11 per cent increase. This means decay accounts for 60.5 per cent of all extractions in this age group, soaring to 80 per cent for those up to four years old and 86.5 per cent for five to nine-year-olds. Alarmingly, tooth decay remains the primary reason for hospital admissions among children aged five to nine. While NHS data experts suggest the rising figures since 2021 could reflect a recovery in services post-pandemic, the British Dental Association (BDA) insists that greater efforts are …

British Museum Removed the Word ‘Palestinian’ from Some Displays

British Museum Removed the Word ‘Palestinian’ from Some Displays

The British Museum in London stripped the word “Palestinian” from some of its displays about the Middle East amid pressure from a prominent pro-Israel group. The Telegraph reported this weekend that UK Lawyers for Israel had written a letter to Nicholas Cullinan, the museum’s director, seeking the removal of that word, specifically in texts that referred to certain peoples as being “of Palestinian descent.” “Applying a single name – Palestine – retrospectively to the entire region, across thousands of years, erases historical changes and creates a false impression of continuity,” the group reportedly wrote. “It also has the compounding effect of erasing the Kingdoms of Israel and of Judea, which emerged from around 1000 BC, and of re-framing the origins of the Israelites and Jewish people as erroneously stemming from Palestine. The chosen terminology in the items described above implies the existence of an ancient and continuous region called Palestine.” Related Articles The group, known as UKLFI for short, has previously been accused of taking action against individuals and institutions that have voiced support for …
