Sweden Passes Law To Revoke Residence Permits From Migrants Who Fail ‘Good-Behavior’ Test

Via Remix News, Sweden has passed a new migration law that will allow residence permits to be refused or revoked if foreign nationals are deemed not to have lived in an orderly manner, marking another major tightening of the country’s immigration system. The Swedish Parliament adopted the government’s amendments to existing immigration laws on Monday by 302 votes to 44, with the Left Party and the Green Party voting against the measure. The changes will mainly come into force next month. Under the new rules, a foreign national’s conduct will carry greater weight when authorities decide whether to grant, extend, or revoke a residence permit. The law does not set out an exhaustive list of behaviors that will be treated as unacceptable, leaving the Migration Agency to assess cases individually. It means that an immigrant who may not hold a criminal record but has acted in a disorderly manner in other ways could be told to leave. Decisions can be appealed to a migration court. Government representatives and investigators have cited several examples of conduct …

France to revoke US envoy Kushner’s government access after no-show

Charles Kushner attends the funeral for Ivana Trump, socialite and first wife of Donald Trump, at St. Vincent Ferrer Church, in New York City, US, July 20, 2022. JEENAH MOON / REUTERS On Monday, February 23, France moved to block US envoy Charles Kushner from having access to government ministers, after he failed to show up to explain comments about a killed far-right activist. The move is the latest instance of diplomatic friction between Paris and the United States under President Donald Trump, with Paris bristling at what it sees as repeated interference by Washington in domestic matters. Kushner, whose son Jared is married to Trump’s daughter Ivanka, has already been summoned once before over his criticism of France’s handling of antisemitism. He skipped that meeting as well, sending another official instead. Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot summoned Kushner after the US embassy in Paris reposted comments by the Trump administration in Washington about slain far-right activist Quentin Deranque. Deranque, 23, died from head injuries following clashes between radical-left and far-right supporters on the sidelines of …

Trump EPA reportedly seeks to revoke landmark air pollution rule

Trump EPA reportedly seeks to revoke landmark air pollution rule

The Trump administration’s EPA administrator, Lee Zeldin, is looking to repeal the 2009 “endangerment finding” that found greenhouse gases pose a threat to human health and welfare, possibly as early as this week, the Wall Street Journal reports. The EPA finding had set the legal basis for federal regulation of six greenhouse gases, including carbon dioxide and methane, and it has been unsuccessfully challenged since it was first instituted. The move is almost certain to attract a number of lawsuits, and it could be years before the matter is settled. The EPA’s move will only affect tailpipe emissions for cars and trucks, though it’s expected that the Trump administration will use it to unwind regulations in other sectors like power plants and industrial facilities. Legacy automakers, which pushed Trump to weaken fuel efficiency rules, notably did not push for the EPA to repeal the endangerment finding. Tesla went further, asking the EPA to maintain the finding, saying it was “based on a robust factual and scientific record.”  If the Trump administration is successful, the U.S. …

Ahmad Al-rubaye | Afp | Getty Images The Environmental Protection Agency moved to finalize the revocation of a critical scientific finding that undergirds the U.S. government’s climate regulations and ability to regulate greenhouse gases, the agency told CNBC. The EPA took a key step to ax the 2009 “endangerment finding” over the weekend by submitting the proposed rule to the Office of Management and Budget, the EPA press office told CNBC. The agency initially proposed rescinding it in July last year. “This week at the White House, President Trump will be taking the most significant deregulatory actions in history to further unleash American energy dominance and drive down costs,” White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt said in an email to CNBC. The revocation of the endangerment finding would represent the Trump administration’s biggest broadside yet against efforts to combat climate change and would be a boon for the fossil fuel industry that has fought against climate …

SCAM Act Introduced To Revoke Citizenship Of Migrants Who Commit Fraud, Serious Felonies

Via American Greatness, Sen. Eric Schmitt (R-MO) has introduced the Stop Citizenship Abuse and Misrepresentation (SCAM) Act that would strip citizenship from individuals who commit serious crimes within 10 years of their naturalization. According to Schmitt, the legislation would expand the grounds for beginning the denaturalization process to include welfare fraud, aggravated felonies and joining a terrorist organization, including gangs and cartels. Fox New reports that the SCAM Act would create a 10-year window, post-naturalization, which would lower the threshold for federal authorities to strike an individual’s citizenship and to begin deportation proceedings. 🚨 BREAKING: Sen. How to automatically revoke app permissions the moment you close the app

Using a smartphone comes with pros and cons. There are features we genuinely enjoy, and others we might be wary of. App permissions are a perfect example of this trade-off. Today, almost everything we do revolves around apps. To function properly, these apps request access to features like your location, camera, contacts, microphone, and more. Over time, this allows them to collect a significant amount of your data, sometimes even enabling unnecessary or unwanted tracking. Understanding how these permissions work is the first step toward taking back control, and that is exactly what this article helps you do. So why continue sharing permissions with apps you barely use or have not opened in months? This is where revoking app permissions makes sense. It gives you better control over your data, limits needless access, and helps keep your phone more private. It is something every Android user should be aware of.
