‘Worked Out Twice a Day’

‘Worked Out Twice a Day’

Robert Pattinson has a message for critics of his superhero physique in The Batman. The actor, who is also reprising his role in Matt Reeves’ The Batman: Part II, recently clarified during an interview with GQ that he “worked out every fucking day” during filming for the 2022 movie, despite some people criticizing his body. “[Everyone was like], ‘You didn’t work out at all.’ I worked out every fucking day,” Pattinson said. “Even after that, I still look like I didn’t work out. I worked out twice a day at, like, three o’clock in the morning,” Pattinson said, adding that he blames his past interviews for tough critiques of his Batman body. “I’m like, it’s just because I said it in an interview [that exercise was uncool]. I was trying to sound cool!” The Drama actor told GQ that he has since installed a home gym inside his Beverly Hills house to train for The Batman sequel, which is expected to begin filming soon. However, Pattinson didn’t seem fully looped in on his upcoming filming …

Inside the Making of ‘The Odyssey’—With Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson, and Christopher Nolan

Inside the Making of ‘The Odyssey’—With Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson, and Christopher Nolan

He also knew, early on, precisely how he wanted to shoot the film. For The Odyssey, Nolan asked IMAX to design a camera that could capture not just big sweeping shots but intimate scenes of dialogue, something that was previously thought to be impossible, due to how loud IMAX cameras are. At Nolan’s behest, IMAX devised a kind of blimp covering to get the effect he wanted while still allowing the actors to hear themselves over the sound of the camera. And then, because the covering often blocked the actor’s eyeline, Nolan himself improvised a workaround, a system of mirrors that would allow a second actor’s face to be projected just left of his lens. “Chris doesn’t fake anything,” Holland told me. “Everything’s real. Everything you’re reacting to is what he wants your visceral human response to.” Pattinson once had to shoot a scene in The Odyssey responding to a far-off sound. “I can’t see anything, apart from the camera,” he recounted, “and I was just asking Chris, because I’m supposed to react to this …

Robert Pattinson’s Massive Year Continues With ‘Primetime’ Trailer

Robert Pattinson’s Massive Year Continues With ‘Primetime’ Trailer

It will take you a minute to recognize Robert Pattinson’s voice in the new teaser trailer for Primetime (watch below), A24’s upcoming film in which he stars as broadcast journalist Chris Hansen, the face of the former Dateline NBC series To Catch a Predator. This has become something of a signature for the guy who’s brought wild vocal flair to everything from The Devil All the Time to Mickey 17 to Good Time. Here, the British actor appears to take on Hansen’s vocal patterns and tics with an eerie, off-kilter precision, as those familiar with the infamous true-crime host can attest. While a very small glimpse into what the characterization will look like — with an even shorter visual introduction — the trailer indicates that more chameleonic work from Pattinson is on the way.  Primetime is directed by the acclaimed documentarian Lance Oppenheim (Some Kind of Heaven, Ren Faire) in his narrative feature debut, and marks Pattinson’s first full feature-producing credit. It’s set in 2006, the year in which the bulk of the series’ episodes …

‘The Batman: Part II’ Cast Picks Up Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Brian Tyree Henry and More

‘The Batman: Part II’ Cast Picks Up Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Brian Tyree Henry and More

We’re still a ways away from seeing The Batman: Part II. Director Matt Reeves’ hotly-anticipated sequel to The Batman—an icon-rebooting three-hour epic featuring a noir sensibility, a lot of Nirvana music, and a bold, brooding performance by Robert Pattinson as an emo-hardcore incarnation of the Caped Crusader—isn’t set to bow until October 1, 2027. But as production ramps up, Reeves took to Twitter to run back his casting gimmick from 2019, where he slowly debuted each cast member in the form of a GIF. It’s like the Avengers: Doomsday chairs livestream, only less arduous. Outside of the new and returning cast, details on Part II are still pretty thin. We know from some camera tests and from the end of the first film that the sequel will be set during a Gotham winter. Otherwise, Reeves is keeping the plot more secure than the Joker at Arkham. (Perhaps that’s a poor analogy considering how routinely the Joker seems to escape, but you get the point.) One key cast member from The Batman who wasn’t mentioned in …

Sounds Like ‘The Batman: Part II’ Is Swinging For ‘The Dark Knight’s Crown

Sounds Like ‘The Batman: Part II’ Is Swinging For ‘The Dark Knight’s Crown

Mascara at the ready, Robert Pattinson—you’re headed back to Gotham City (Nirvana’s Version). Following a series of delays behind the scenes, The Batman: Part II is reportedly set to begin shooting in London next month. Quite remarkably for such a long-awaited comic book movie in the social media age—where productions tend to be leakier than a broken faucet, plot points and cameo appearances doing the rounds well in advance of release—story details remain firmly under wraps. Truth be told, we know next to nothing about the sequel to writer-director Matt Reeves’s smash, grunge-coded hit, other than that RPatz will indeed return as the Caped Crusader, Andy Serkis is back as loyal butler Alfred Pennyworth, and a slew of fresh faces are in late-stage casting talks. So, most of this is very much speculative. But it stands to reason that Part II will pick up some time following the explosive climax of The Batman and the events of its TV spin-off The Penguin, which saw Gotham picking up the pieces after The Riddler (Paul Dano) flooded …

New Footage With Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya Revealed

New Footage With Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya Revealed

Dune: Part Three opens with no shortage of firepower, as the CinemaCon crowd learned Tuesday. Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Jason Momoa and director Denis Villeneuve took the stage at the Las Vegas event to discuss the sequel. They then unveiled the first seven minutes from the highly anticipated film during Warner Bros.‘ presentation. The footage featured Javier Bardem as Stilgar as he led his troops against a seemingly insurmountable enemy. The intense battle scenes featured an endless array of shots fired and plenty of actual fire. After those seven minutes, additional footage included Chalamet’s Paul Atreides confronting Zendaya’s Chani in a tense moment. “You’ve conquered the galaxy,” Momoa tells Chalamet in the new footage. “You’ve destroyed thousands of worlds.” This leads Chalamet to ask, “What are your thoughts on that?” to which Momoa replies, “I think you’re way beyond redemption.” Later, Zendaya asks Chalamet, “How does it feel to be human like everyone else, Paul Atreides?” In introducing the scenes, Villeneuve called the film a thriller and teased, “It’s more intense and definitely more emotional.” Chalamet …

Zendaya and Robert Pattinson’s Onscreen Wedding Is Big Drama. These 8 Real-Life Unions Have Them Beat.

Any wedding involving one of the world’s richest men was bound to make news. But Bezos and Sánchez’s starry three-day celebration in Venice sparked major backlash among the Italian locals concerned for their floating home: Venice has sunk about 10 inches in the last century as water levels around it have also risen, and an influx of visitors, they worried, would exacerbate the situation. “Let’s make sure that Venice is not remembered as a postcard venue where Bezos had his wedding but as the city that did not bend to oligarchs,” protester Na Haby Stella Faye said at the time, according to The New York Times. “We have a chance to disrupt a $10 million wedding—let’s do it.” Reuters reported that security concerns stemming from the locals’ pre-wedding protests prompted the bride and groom to change their wedding-party venue. From June 26 to 28, the city was plastered with posters featuring Bezos’s head on a rocket and messages like this one: “In the time it takes to read this, Jeff Bezos’ wealth has increased more …
