With The Rookie season 8 having finished airing in the US, and with episodes still arriving weekly in the UK, we recently got an update on the show’s already confirmed ninth season. Speaking as the series’s network, ABC, was laying out its schedule of shows for the autumn, Ari Goldman, SVP, content strategy and scheduling, appeared to confirm that fans will have a wait on their hands, and The Rookie won’t arrive until midseason – AKA, early 2027. Having been a Fall series since its inception, The Rookie moved to be a midseason show with its sixth season in 2024, due to the writers’ strike. It then stayed in a similar slot for seasons 7 and 8. The Rookie is showing no signs of slowing down, with season 9 getting officially confirmed weeks before season 8’s finale. SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Egor Demin set an NBA rookie record by making a 3-pointer in his 34th straight game and finished with 25 points and 10 rebounds to help the Brooklyn Nets snap a seven-game losing streak with a 109-99 victory over the Utah Jazz on Friday night. Demin, who was 6 of 12 from 3-point range, set the mark on the first basket for Brooklyn. Cam Thomas added 21 points for the Nets, Day’ron Sharpe had 16 points and nine rebounds, and Danny Wolf added 14 points. Brooklyn outscored the Jazz 20-2 in second-chance points. The cast of the ABC police procedural filmed new episodes of season eight, which premieres Tuesday, in Prague last year. Fillion’s character John Nolan and Dewan’s Bailey Nune kick off the season by going abroad with defense lawyer Monica Stevens, played by Bridget Regan, to target terrorists.
