‘Moulin Rouge’ Hits $2.3M In Closing Week
Moulin Rouge! shot up to $2.3 million in its final week on Broadway, marking the highest gross the musical has seen in several years on Broadway. The show played its final performance Aug. 30, played to more than 100 percent capacity, with average paid admission of $223.46, the highest of the industry last week. In its final week, the musical welcomed back Aaron Tveit as a cast member for most of its performances, with other original cast members joining on stage for a number during the final performance. This is an impressive tally for the musical, which recently saw Megan Thee Stallion star in the show, even though it pales in comparison to the $2.7 million the musical brought in over 9 performances over Christmas week in 2019.
