Big Mistakes, which stars Levy and Taylor Ortega as two incapable siblings, Nick and Morgan, who are blackmailed into the world of organized crime, premiered on Netflix Thursday, April 9. Laurie Metcalf plays their mother, Linda. According to Rotten Tomatoes, the series has 18 positive critics’ scores and just one negative. It was co-created by Rachel Sennott — who was originally set to play Levy’s sibling; however, her HBO comedy I Love LA was picked up to series, ruling her out. Jack Innanen, Boran Kuzum and Abby Quinn also star. “You might think the minds behind Schitt’s Creek and Bottoms would make for strange bedfellows, but Levy and Sennott’s sensibilities combine for a compelling blend of dark family …

Dan Levy Considered Schitt’s Creek Sequel Before Catherine O’Hara Died

Dan Levy Considered Schitt’s Creek Sequel Before Catherine O’Hara Died

Dan Levy knows there’s no Schitt’s Creek without Catherine O’Hara. During a recent interview on CBS News Sunday Morning, the Emmy-winning actor, producer and showrunner visited Goodwood — the small town in Ontario, Canada, where Schitt’s Creek was filmed — for the first time since the sitcom wrapped in 2020. While standing outside the store that was once called Rose Apothecary, the fictional boutique his character David Rose owned, CBS News’ Anthony Mason asked if there was any chance for a sequel series. “No. Not now,” Levy replied. “You can’t.” The Big Mistakes co-creator added that at one point, he was “thinking about” a follow-up to Schitt’s Creek. However, that was before O’Hara died on Jan. 30 at age 71 from a pulmonary embolism, with rectal cancer as the underlying cause. The actress played David’s mom and eccentric soap opera star, Moira Rose, on the show for six seasons. “It’s tough. It’s tough being back. I didn’t think that I’d have quite an emotional reaction,” Levy told Mason as he struggled to hold back tears. He added that …

Levy, the show’s co-creator, had previously that fan speculation had inspired him to consider a potential revival of the Emmy-winning comedy series after it aired from 2015 to 2020. But after O’Hara — who played flamboyant matriarch Moira Rose on the Canadian sitcom — died from a pulmonary embolism in January at age 71, Levy said there is no way that the show could return without her. “No. We can’t,” Levy, 42, said in an interview with CBS News published Sunday. “I was thinking about it. Yeah. It’s tough. It’s tough going back.” He told the broadcaster that it was “awe-inspiring” to work with the comedian on the show. Dan Levy said he is not interested in doing a ‘Schitt’s …

March is a fun one, since we experience a little bit of more than one season–at least most places in the U.S. do–and the slight promises of spring in colder locales become true signs of the new season by the end of the month. But March isn’t exciting just for its transitions. March is also a busy month for publishing. There are so many new books hitting shelves this month, and that includes a wealth of YA books. We’ve had a slower start to 2026, but things are picking up quickly now. For the first week of new releases, we’ve got a couple of novels gracing readers with simultaneous publication in hardcover and in paperback. I’ve mentioned several times how much this micro-trend in publishing has been welcomed over the past year or so, and it’s great to see it continue. Offering readers options for …

“Schitt’s Creek” star Catherine O’Hara, dead at 71

“Schitt’s Creek” star Catherine O’Hara, dead at 71

Catherine O’Hara, beloved for her Emmy and Golden Globe-award-winning portrayal of Moira Rose in “Schitt’s Creek” and scene-stealing roles in “Home Alone,” “Best in Show” and “Beetlejuice,” has died. She was 71. Creative Artists Agency confirmed O’Hara’s death in a statement, which did not cite a cause but said she died after a brief illness. Over the course of her five-decade career, the Toronto-born O’Hara played parts across the dramatic and comedy spectrum. But she shone brightest in works that foregrounded her wit.  A veteran of Canada’s Second City sketch troupe, O’Hara was part of the founding ensemble of “SCTV” in 1976, a cast that included her eventual “Schitt’s Creek” co-star Eugene Levy, Andrea Martin, Joe Flaherty, Dave Thomas, Harold Ramis and John Candy. She earned the first of her two Emmys in 1982 for her writing on the show, which at that time was known as “SCTV Network 90” and aired on NBC. But as the satirically pompous, high-strung Moira Rose, the uncomfortably broke former soap opera queen and matriarch of the hit Canadian …
