King Charles’ secret plans to ‘urgently’ settle William and Harry’s feud – report

The feud between Prince William and Prince Harry has become one of the biggest talking points in the British monarchy’s history. Palace insiders claim that King Charles is deeply troubled by the conflict between his sons and that his greatest wish is to restore family harmony.  Reconciliation might seem like an impossible feat, but the plan is already underway, according to the Daily Mail. A recent report claims King Charles wants his sons to make peace before it’s too late, with help from his new deputy private secretary, Theo Rycroft. © Getty ImagesKing Charles reportedly wants his sons to make peace before it’s too late Former diplomat Theo Rycroft has only been at his side since February, but he has already earned the Palace’s trust. He is described by insiders as a calm operator, extremely skilled in sensitive situations, earning him the nickname of “Mr. Nice Guy.” ‘Mission number one’ Rycroft reportedly considers the current situation between the brothers to be “ridiculous” and has made it his “number one mission” to get William and Harry, …

Vishal Bhatnagar | Nurphoto | Getty Images The U.S. Department of Treasury on Monday said it had agreed to a $275 million settlement with India’s Adani Enterprises Ltd over the company’s potential civil liability for 32 apparent violations of U.S. sanctions on Iran. Adani Enterprises had bought shipments of liquefied petroleum gas from a Dubai-based trader purporting to supply Omani and Iraqi gas that had actually originated from Iran, Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control said in a statement. The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission separately settled a civil lawsuit against Indian billionaire Gautam Adani over an alleged scheme to bribe Indian government officials, court records showed last week, although the move is subject to court approval. The Justice Department is also close to dropping related criminal fraud charges against Adani, who has promised to invest $10 billion in the U.S. economy, according to two sources familiar with …

More than a dozen American cruise passengers returned to the U.S. Monday and went straight to a quarantine facility at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Jake Rosmarin, a travel influencer from Boston, is one of them. He’s been posting about his experience on Instagram. The first few days have been OK, he said. On Tuesday, nurses brought him his first iced coffee from Starbucks in over six weeks. “I’m literally in heaven,” he said in a posted video, sipping on an iced horchata oat milk shaken espresso with vanilla cold foam. “This is everything I needed right now.” Rosmarin gave a tour of his room: a closet, bathroom, TV and exercise bike. He keeps the window shades drawn against the media trucks outside. The Americans in Nebraska were …

Apple Will Pay 0 Million to Settle Lawsuit Over Siri’s AI Features

Apple Will Pay $250 Million to Settle Lawsuit Over Siri’s AI Features

Apple has agreed to pay $250 million to settle a false advertising class-action lawsuit accusing the company of overhyping its Apple Intelligence features—specifically a promised AI overhaul of Siri that plaintiffs say never materialized and, according to their lawyers, may not arrive for years. The announcement comes just before Apple is supposedly set to finally unveil some form of AI-enhanced Siri at its developer conference in June, which would mark another swing at detailing a radically improved digital assistant for the iPhone. The legal complaint says that Apple allegedly saturated the market with deceptive ads, inducing consumers to purchase iPhones based on “the promise of certain Enhanced Siri features” that Apple had first announced at its Worldwide Developers Conference in 2024, a few months ahead of the release of the iPhone 16. The proposed settlement, filed Tuesday in California federal court, is one of the largest Apple has ever reached. It covers only US customers who bought any model of an iPhone 15 or iPhone 16 between June 10, 2024 and March 29, 2025. Depending …

Apple to Pay 0 Million to Settle Class Action Over Delayed Siri Features

Apple to Pay $250 Million to Settle Class Action Over Delayed Siri Features

Apple will pay $250 million to settle a class action lawsuit accusing it of false advertising and unfair competition after the personalized Siri features it promoted when launching the iPhone 16 were delayed. A smarter, Apple Intelligence version of ‌Siri‌ was shown off at WWDC 2024, and then promoted in ads and videos when the ‌iPhone 16‌ launched in September 2024. After Apple delayed the Siri Apple Intelligence features in March 2025, Apple pulled its ads, but they had been running for several months at that point. The lawsuit claimed Apple violated consumer law by misleading consumers about the actual utility and performance of ‌Apple Intelligence‌, and causing them to purchase a device “with features that did not exist or were materially misrepresented.” Apple was not found guilty of any wrongdoing, and the company sometimes settles lawsuits to minimize legal fees and time spent on litigation. A settlement agreement was reached back in December, but the terms of the settlement are now live. In a statement to MacRumors, Apple said that resolved the lawsuit so …

Forbes to settle class action privacy claim over website trackers

Top of Forbes.com homepage, and bottom showing privacy consent choices (as seen by UK users) Forbes has agreed to settle a class action lawsuit in California relating to its use of third-party website trackers. The trackers on Forbes.com collected IP addresses and other unique identifiers from visitors, which those bringing the lawsuit argued constituted unauthorised use of “pen registers” and “trap and trace devices” under the California Invasion of Privacy Act. A “pen register” is a “device or process that records or decodes dialing, routing, addressing, or signaling information” while a “trap and trace device” is one that captures incoming information that can “identify the originating number or other dialing, routing, addressing, or signaling information reasonably likely to identify the source of a wire or electronic communication, but not the contents of a communication”. The two plaintiffs, who brought the case on their behalf and others who may have been similarly affected, accused Forbes of installing trackers on its website including the Linkedin Insight Tag, the Bing Universal Event Tracking Tag and the Adnx Tracker, …

Monkeys eating soil to settle upset stomachs from junk food, says research | UK News

Monkeys eating soil to settle upset stomachs from junk food, says research | UK News

Monkeys in Gibraltar have learned to eat soil to settle their stomachs from all the junk food they consume, research suggests. Scientists believe the dirt helps the monkeys line the gut to stop irritation from foods which are “extremely rich in calories, sugar, salt and dairy”. The soil also provides bacteria and minerals missing from junk food offered or stolen from tourists, such as chocolate bars, crisps and ice cream. The snacks have negative digestive effects for the macaques and can cause symptoms from nausea to diarrhoea, but the food is “as delicious for them” as it is for humans, according to a Cambridge University study. Animals in frequent contact with Gibraltar’s visitors were observed to eat more dirt, with this behaviour higher during peak holiday season. Image: A macaque monkey finishing a packet of M&Ms. Pic: Martin Nicourt/Gibraltar Macaques Project/PA The researchers think the behaviour is likely to have been learned socially as different troops of monkeys have preferences for certain types of soil. Experts said the soil acts as a “barrier” in the …

Trump, IRS in Talks to Settle US President’s Billion Lawsuit

Trump, IRS in Talks to Settle US President’s $10 Billion Lawsuit

April 17 (Reuters) – Lawyers for Donald Trump and the Internal Revenue Service are in talks to settle the U.S. president’s $10 billion lawsuit against the tax collection agency for leaking his tax returns to the media in 2019 and 2020. In a Friday filing in Miami federal court, the lawyers asked a judge to put the case ‌on hold for 90 days “while the parties ‌engage in discussions designed to resolve this matter and to avoid protracted litigation.” A pause “could narrow or resolve the issues efficiently,” they added. The White House declined to comment. The Department of Justice, which represents the IRS, declined to comment. A delay would give Justice Department lawyers more time to address conflicts of interest posed by the case, given that Trump is suing his own government. Justice Department lawyers report ultimately to the president, while the IRS and the Treasury Department, which is also a defendant, are part of the executive branch. Trump’s adult sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, and the Trump Organization are also plaintiffs. IRS …

“Slap in the face”: Trump DOJ plans to settle predatory lending case without compensating victims

In December 2023, the U.S. Justice Department sued a Texas land developer it accused of duping tens of thousands of Hispanic residents into predatory mortgages, a landmark case for the Biden administration. Colony Ridge, which sold plots in massive subdivisions north of Houston, had become a “one-stop shop for discriminatory lending,” Kristen Clarke, assistant attorney general for civil rights, said at a news conference announcing the lawsuit. The developer targeted Hispanic applicants through false advertising and persuaded them to take out high-interest loans that many could not afford, then benefited when it foreclosed on their properties, the lawsuit alleged. “Our goal at the end of the day is to ensure that victims are compensated for their loss,” Clarke declared. Three years later, the Trump administration and Colony Ridge are on the verge of resolving the case. But the $68 million proposed settlement provides no money for victims of the alleged scheme. Instead, it sets aside $20 million for policing and immigration enforcement — a provision that may be used to target the very people who …
