The sickening nickname Mackenzie Shirilla boldly boasted in prison

Mackenzie Shirilla is once again in hot water. The 21-year-old, who is currently incarcerated at the Ohio Reformatory for Women, boasted a shocking nickname to other prisoners, and it’s not “hell on wheels.” Mackenzie was sentenced to life in prison in August 2023 after being found guilty of intentionally crashing her car into a brick wall, killing two passengers, her boyfriend, Dominic Russo, and their friend, Davion Flanagan. While in prison for her crime, she started dating a fellow inmate at the prison, Shyann Topping, 27, telling her she went by the nickname “Shirilla the killa.” The two dated for just two weeks when Shyann was released from prison.  © COURTESY OF NETFLIXMackenzie is from Strongsville, Ohio “Mackenzie was upset that I was leaving,” she told the US Sun. “She would tell me all the time, ‘I wish we met sooner, before you were about to get out. I wish you would have talked before this.’” Since leaving prison, the former inmate hasn’t spoken to Mackenzie, but shared the plans the 21-year-old had if she …

Grok posts about fatal football disasters ‘sickening’, says government | Science, Climate & Tech News

Elon Musk’s Grok is producing hate-filled, racist posts online after being asked for “vulgar” comments in the latest concerning trend by users on X. A Sky News analysis of the chatbot’s public responses shows highly offensive AI-generated replies with profanities about Islam and Hinduism – disparaging the religions with racist vitriol. The UK government described the posts as “sickening and irresponsible,” saying they go against British values. Image: The AI app Grok. Pic: PA They are part of a trend growing in recent days of users asking X to generate “vulgar” and no-holds-barred comments – two months after the platform was threatened with being banned by the UK government for producing sexualised images undressing women. Grok has also been found falsely blaming Liverpool fans for the 1989 Hillsborough disaster, which led to the deaths of 97 fans, and using derogatory language about the city. Liverpool said they are trying to get the post removed. Police initially blamed Liverpool supporters for causing the disaster but, after decades of campaigning by families, that narrative was debunked. In …

The Most Sickening Twist in ‘Industry’ Is Also Its Most Insightful

This post contains spoilers through Season 4, Episode 8 of Industry. Over four seasons of HBO’s drama Industry, Yasmin Kara-Hanani has emerged as TV’s most lovable monster. The show portrays devious, cocaine-huffing young bankers climbing the ranks of global finance, and Yasmin—or Yas, for short—has cut the least noble path of all. The posh, multilingual daughter of a media magnate, she fails upward time and again by drawing upon her privilege rather than her competence. She’s sadistic in sex and in her friendships. Plus, she provoked her dad to jump off a boat, then let him drown. And yet there’s something about Yas that makes her more than just fun to hate. The actor Marisa Abela plays her in a binary state of panic and swagger by sobbing like a dejected child or slyly grinning like one who’s about to wolf down an ice-cream cake. Whereas other characters are cold and sharklike, Yas feels her way through the world—and uses her vulnerability to manipulate others. Being born into wealth taught her that none of us …

Doctor Says What Border Patrol Agents Did After Shooting Alex Pretti Was Sickening

Roberto Schmidt / AFP via Getty Images A doctor who witnessed the brutal shooting of Alex Pretti by Border Patrol agents says that the agents didn’t even bother trying to save the victim’s life as he bled out on the ground — because they were too busy counting the bullet wounds. The harrowing testimony, detailed in a sworn court filing, contradicts key details in the accounts given by the Department of Homeland Security and top officials in the Trump administration, which insist that the 37-year-old ICU nurse threatened agents and attempted to reach for his gun during an altercation in Minneapolis on Saturday. According to the witness, a 29-year-old physician who isn’t identified by name in the court document, Pretti was yelling at the agents but did not attack them or brandish any sort of weapon before the situation escalated fatally. “Suddenly, an ICE agent shoved him to the ground,” the witness said, referring to the Border Patrol officers. “My view of the altercation was partially obstructed, but after a few seconds, I saw at …
