Dame Maggie Smith passed away at the age of 89 on 27 September 2024, and it’s been revealed that the star had an impressive fortune at the time of her death, totalling £15,977,325. The late actress has left much of her fortune, which includes a five-bedroom West Sussex farmhouse called Douglas Lake Farm, to her two children, Chris Larkin and Toby Stephens. Both of the star’s children followed her into acting. The actress welcomed her children with thespian Robert Stephens, who died in 1995. Maggie’s second husband was the playwright Beverley Cross, who died in 1998. Maggie’s will stipulates that copyright, royalties and unpublished works that she inherited following Beverley’s death are to be divided between her own children, as well as Beverley’s children that he had from a previous relationship. Mere days after Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill launched their new Doctor Who podcast, The Pondcast, they have now revealed a wishlist for guests they would want to have on – and there’s no surprise as to who’s at the top. Speaking in the latest issue of Doctor Who Magazine, Gillan said that “We must get Matt Smith!”, to which Darvill said with certainty that “We will get Matt, and we have spoken to Matt about it”. Smith played the 11th Doctor between 2010 and 2013 (with a brief cameo in 2014), while Gillan and Darvill played his initial companions, married couple Amy Pond and Rory Williams.
