All the Flamingo Estate Soap Bricks, Ranked (2026)

All the Flamingo Estate Soap Bricks, Ranked (2026)

Before Flamingo Estate became the go-to destination for apothecary and pantry essentials tucked into the hills of Los Angeles, the property Australian-born founder Richard Christiansen bought more than a decade ago had been a porn studio, a political activist center, a community hub, and even a radio station. Christiansen restored it into the lush seven-acre garden we see today—now famous for its Gatsby-esque dinner parties—and officially launched Flamingo Estate in 2020 as a community-supported agriculture box program designed to help local farmers. Since then, the brand’s farmer relationships have gone global, working with producers across California, Mexico, Italy, New Zealand, Japan, and Australia. My first introduction to Flamingo Estate came when someone gifted me their Olive Oil and Fuyu Persimmon Vinegar, and I’ve been hooked ever since. Before that, I’d clock the label’s naturally fragranced shampoo and conditioner popping up in very luxe outdoor showers—plus, of course, their now-viral Roma tomato candle, which gives Loewe’s version a real run for its money. After fully drinking the Kool-Aid (or rather, the brand’s ethos of “radical pleasure”) …

Whoopi Goldberg Is Currently Starring in an Italian Soap Opera

Whoopi Goldberg has taken her talents overseas—to Italy, specifically. On Friday, January 23, the EGOT winner and The View moderator announced that she joined the cast of the Italian soap opera Un Posto Al Sole, translated to A Place in the Sun in English. Produced by Fremantle and broadcast on Rai 3, A Place in the Sun has been running continuously for 30 years, having premiered in 1996. Apparently, it was Goldberg who decided to join the long-running Italian soap opera. “No one convinced me to do it: I’m the one who wanted to do it because it would have led me to spend more time in Italy, since I frequent your country for other reasons,” she exclusively told VF Italia. On the series, Goldberg will portray Eleanor Price, an American businesswoman who has arrived in Naples to commission the construction of a yacht and settle some unfinished business from her past. In conversation with VF Italia, Goldberg lamented the lack of soap operas in her native US. “There used to be a lot of historical soaps …

Soap couple Nikki Sanderson and Anthony Quinlan open up over baby joy

Soap stars Nikki Sanderson and Anthony Quinlan have spoken about their pregnancy journey, with the pair saying they are “thrilled”. After making an announcement on Christmas Eve, the couple are preparing for a life-changing event. The respective pair played Maxine Minniver and Gilly Roach on Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks, though their paths never crossed in the series as Quinlan had already departed by the time Sanderson joined in 2012. After Sanderson announced that they were expecting last month, the couple spoke with The Mirror about their journey, with the pair admitting that it was a mixture of excitement and anxiety. “I felt absolutely elated that we got this confirmation and that the baby was fine – the first time seeing the heartbeat on the scans was the most amazing, incredible feeling,” said Sanderson, who has also starred in Coronation Street. “But I also felt a lot of anxiety – just worrying that the baby was okay and if the journey for us was going to be okay. Coronation Street confirms shock exit for soap icon after 3 years

Coronation Street icon signs up for another year with ITV soap 26 years after first episode

Coronation Street has secured one of its long-serving stars for another year, with “big things” reportedly planned in 2026 for Tina O’Brien (who plays Sarah Platt). O’Brien debuted in the role in 1999, taking over from child actor Lynsay King, and had a number of high profile storylines during her first stint on the soap, which ended in 2008. She returned seven years later and has remained a key player ever since, with recent episodes focusing on her tumultuous relationship with police detective Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) among other subplots. Daughter to Gail (Helen Worth) and sister to David (Jack P Shepherd), Sarah Platt is deeply embedded in Coronation Street history, so the report of her contract’s renewal by The Sun won’t come as a great surprise to viewers. “Tina had a very difficult 2025 so bosses wanted to reassure her that there was nothing to worry about where her job was concerned,” an unnamed source told the tabloid, referring to the death of O’Brien’s father in November. Emmerdale fan-favourite confirms exit from soap after three months

Emmerdale star Chris Coghill has confirmed his final scenes as Kev Townsend have already aired. He initially departed in November, after wielding a sword at husband Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) and Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller). Kev realised that the two were inseparable and there was nothing he could do to win Robert back. Kev has departed the village. ITV The character made an epic return over the Christmas and New Year period, coming face-to-face with twisted John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth). As viewers know, John is determined to win Aaron back, and ordered Kev to murder Robert – and then take his own life. This didn’t happen, and instead, Kev warned Aaron about the unfolding situation before paying one last visit to the village to see his son Lewis Barton (Bradley Riches). Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler) stopped the two from meeting, concerned that the revelation of his paternity would cause Lewis to spiral. Want to see this content? Ditch the antibacterial soap this cold and flu season

Ditch the antibacterial soap this cold and flu season

Get the Popular Science daily newsletter💡 Breakthroughs, discoveries, and DIY tips sent every weekday. The most dreaded time of year rolls around every winter like clockwork: cold and flu season. The time when hand washing increases, sanitizing surfaces intensifies, and old and young schedule regular seasonal vaccines in an attempt to prevent sickness from descending on their households. But there’s one piece of ammunition you should absolutely skip this season—and all year-round—because it does more harm than good: antibacterial hand soap. While hand washing is vitally important to curb the spread of disease, soap advertised as antibacterial not only doesn’t protect you better from disease, it has far-reaching and possibly harmful effects on your health and the environment. Here’s why to ditch it and use plain soap instead. How does soap even work? Regular soap can come in many forms: foaming liquid, bars, and gels. It is little more than a combination of fat or oil, alkaline substances (lye), and water. When you wash your hands with it, it loosens the bond microbes (of which …
