A star rating of 4 out of 5. The whiff of power and wealth is unmistakeable in this glossy BBC legal drama, just as it was in Abi Morgan’s popular BBC legal drama The Split, from which it derives its DNA. Much like the original series – which first aired in 2018 and starred Nicola Walker and Stephen Mangan as married divorce lawyers – this six-part show is centred around a successful law firm. This time, it’s set in Manchester and run by Dhruv Kishan (Sanjeev Bhaskar) and – to a certain extent – his wider family. Written by Ursula Rani Sarma (Morgan is an executive producer), the series revolves around Kishan Law, where rising star Aria (Ritu Arya) is poised to take over from her father, Dhruv. But as he begins to wonder whether his daughter is ready to head up the firm, other names enter the fray – including, rather awkwardly, Aria’s fiancé Neal (Danny Ashok). In this firm, they blithely talk in millions of pounds while negotiating A-list divorce settlements and pre-nups. …

In Lee Child’s ongoing series of novels focused on outsized American ronin Jack Reacher, Frances Neagley is perhaps the character Reacher trusts the most and — in a franchise whose protagonist wanders the country picking up only a small selection of new allies in each installment — one of the few to recur across 30 books. Still, her presence is only occasional, since Reacher’s lone wolf status is nearly as important as his size. If Reacher needed Neagley as part of every adventure, the series would be Reacher & Neagley. It is not. Star Trek legend Akiva Goldsman has offered up an update on his proposed series, Year One – and it’s not exactly what fans will have been hoping for. The writer has long spoken about his hopes to bring another Trek spin-off to screens, which would continue on from his show Strange New Worlds, and follow James T Kirk’s first years in the captain’s chair on board the USS Enterprise. However, speaking exclusively to Radio Times around Star Trek’s 60th anniversary, Goldsman revealed that it’s not looking good. “Nobody’s called, the sets are gone,” he said. “Everybody else has started to take other jobs. It’s never been officially yes, and it’s never been officially no. But I don’t see it happening.” He added: “I don’t know. It’s above my pay grade. The Great Pottery Throw Down host Siobhan McSweeney has opened up about Liza Tarbuck stepping in to host the upcoming spin-off series, saying “I cannot wait to see what she brings to it.” The Great Celebrity Pottery Throw Down, which will see six famous faces brave the clay and take to the wheel with a series of challenges, is coming to our screens later this month. The BBC has unveiled a new trailer for The Split Up, the hotly anticipated spin–off of The Split – and it looks set to be as engrossing as the original series. The six-part legal drama, which is coming to our screens later this month, relocates the action to Manchester and focuses on Kishan Law – a powerhouse British South-Asian family firm. Taking centre stage is the firm’s fast-rising star Aria Kishan (The Umbrella Academy’s Ritu Arya), who’s poised to take the mantle from her father Druv (Unforgotten’s Sanjeev Bhaskar) – that is, until the death of her mother casts new light over succession plans for the family. “So you really don’t think I could do this alone,” Aria asks Druv in the new trailer, to which he responds: “There’s not many people who could.” The footage also gives us a glimpse at complications in Aria’s personal life, as she grows closer to an old contact and the firm’s new senior associate, Luke (Those About To Die’s Dimitri Leonidas) – much to the dismay of her …

The BBC has revealed when fans can expect The Split Up, the much-anticipated spinoff of The Split, to land – and there isn’t long to wait! The six-part legal drama, which relocates the action to Manchester and revolves around new storylines and characters, is set to drop on Sunday 20 and Monday 21 September at 9pm on BBC One. Fans can also expect a boxset release on iPlayer. At the beginning of this year, The Hollywood Reporter suggested that an idea for a Game Of Thrones follow-up film centring around Arya was in the “very early” stages of development. When asked about this speculation during a recent interview with The Guardian, however, Maisie made it clear that no one had been in touch with her about the supposed project. “I saw that, too! I was like, huh?” she admitted. ITV has officially confirmed I’m a Celebrity… The Wild Frontier, a spin-off series set in the Canadian wilderness that will launch on ITV1 and ITVX in 2027. The announcement comes after months of reports about a Canadian spin-off, which ITV had not previously confirmed. While part of the I’m a Celebrity franchise, the show will feature a major twist: celebrities will compete in pairs rather than as individuals. Duos might consist of two celebrities together, a celebrity and a family member, or a celebrity and their best friend. But more crucially, they will eat, compete and are eliminated together as one.
