Aug 22 : Australia paceman Mitchell Starc took five wickets in 22 balls in a brilliant spell of quick bowling as Bangladesh staggered to lunch at 35 for six on day one of the second test in Mackay, Queensland on Saturday. • Starc’s was the sixth-fastest five-wicket haul in tests. NEW DELHI, May 18 : Delhi Capitals head coach Hemang Badani hailed Mitchell Starc as a role model after the left-arm pacer produced a match-winning performance to keep their Indian Premier League (IPL) playoff hopes alive. Starc’s 4-40 restricted visitors Rajasthan Royals to 193-8 and Delhi coasted to a five-wicket victory with four balls to spare at their Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sunday. Delhi are seventh in the 10-team league, one point behind fourth-placed Punjab Kings with one regular-season match to go. NEW DELHI, May 9 : Australia fast bowler Mitchell Starc remains driven by the competitive nature of cricket and hopes to extend his 16-year international career for a few more years, he said on Saturday, keeping the door open for a potential appearance at the 2027 World Cup. The 36-year-old left-armer, Australia’s third-highest wicket-taker with 759 across formats – behind only Shane Warne and Glenn McGrath – retired from Twenty20 internationals in September to prolong his career in tests and 50-over cricket. The next ODI World Cup is scheduled to be held in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia in October-November 2027. “I’m pretty competitive, so I just enjoy that aspect of cricket,” Starc told reporters. “For Australia, I get to play with some of my best mates.
