They’re dishing out recycled podcast truisms about mindset and motivation. At some point, they burst into song. This is not some heatwave-induced fever dream, or the sort of psychedelic experience that would be a better anti-drug deterrent than any government campaign. This is, apparently, an early concept for Bartlett’s new TV show for kids, set to be released later this summer on YouTube and Spotify. Steven’s World is the entrepreneur’s latest venture, according to a new report in The Observer. The show will reportedly repackage lessons from interviews on Bartlett’s Diary of a CEO podcast using an AI model fed by previous episodes, aiming to make those …

Arriving in theaters June 12, the movie stars Emily Blunt as a meteorologist who teams up with a whistleblower (Josh O’Connor) to uncover a government conspiracy theory that threatens to change human history forever. It also features Colin Firth, Colman Domingo, Eve Hewson and Wyatt Russell. In the final trailer for the film, Spielberg reveals in a piece-to-camera: “I am much more inclined now than I was when I made Close Encounters to really believe that we are not the only intelligent civilization in the universe. “This is a story about us, all of us, up against the most extraordinary event in human history,” he adds, in between scenes, showing Blunt and O’Connor being chased by …

Steven Soderbergh Defends Using AI in John Lennon Documentary: “I’m a Believer in Exploration”

Steven Soderbergh Defends Using AI in John Lennon Documentary: “I’m a Believer in Exploration”

Steven Soderbergh first came to the Cannes Film Festival in 1989 with his debut narrative feature, Sex, Lies, and Videotape. At 26 years old, he became the youngest solo director to win the Palme d’Or. “How little we expected,” he says. “We slipped into the competition because of another film dropping out, so it all just felt like pure upside.” Since that career-launching breakthrough, the prolific filmmaker has mixed beloved commercial hits (Erin Brockovich, Magic Mike, the Ocean’s franchise) with innovative filmmaking techniques, like shooting the 2018 film Unsane on an iPhone. In his latest film, John Lennon: The Last Interview, Soderbergh again explores a new filmmaking tool: generative AI. The documentary uses an in-depth radio interview that John Lennon and Yoko Ono gave in New York on December 8, 1980. Lennon, who was killed later that day, was strikingly open and thoughtful in the interview, talking about art, music, being a parent, and his relationship with Ono. “It really felt like the creative equivalent of finding this Spanish galleon sunken off the coast of …

‘Jurassic Park’ Screenwriter David Koepp Says Steven Spielberg Wanted ‘Disclosure Day’ to Be His Best Script Yet

‘Jurassic Park’ Screenwriter David Koepp Says Steven Spielberg Wanted ‘Disclosure Day’ to Be His Best Script Yet

At first, Koepp assumed the director was just after some feedback, writer to writer. Eventually, though, Spielberg asked him, “Do you want to do it?” The result, Disclosure Day, is Koepp’s seventh script for which Spielberg served as either director or producer. It’s a collaboration that stretches back to Jurassic Park—Koepp’s genetic reengineering of the Michael Crichton novel that shot his screenwriting career into the stratosphere—and includes two Indiana Jones movies as well as War of the Worlds. “He’s a good collaborator because he listens as much to me as I do to him,” Spielberg said in an email. Koepp is willing, said Spielberg, to rework a script “including and often through principal photography.” Indeed, Koepp wrote 42 drafts for Disclosure Day—a personal record. “[Spielberg] was more exacting than I’ve ever seen him because he knows he’s worked in this area before,” says Koepp. “He wants this one to be the best one.” Koepp was referring, of course, to Spielberg’s multi-film preoccupation with visitors from outer space. But where Close Encounters of the Third Kind …

Doctor Who legend stars in first look at Steven Moffat political drama

As real-world political news continues to dominate the airwaves, a set of first-look images have been unveiled for Steven Moffat’s new drama set in Downing Street, fittingly titled Number 10. The pictures show us our first glimpses at Black Mirror’s Rafe Spall as the Prime Minister, stood outside the iconic Downing Street doorway, as well as Coronation Street’s Katherine Kelly as the Chief of Staff, stroking the Number 10 cat, aka Chief Mouser to the Cabinet Office, on the windowsill. Meanwhile, Doctor Who legend Jenna Coleman is seen as the Deputy Chief of Staff, lounging in a black armchair, on her phone. The synopsis for the new drama says: “There’s a Prime Minister in the attic, a coffee bar in the basement, and a wallpapered labyrinth of romance, crisis and heartbreak in-between. Set in the only terrace house in history with mice and a nuclear deterrent, it’s the only knock-through in the world where a hangover can start a war. Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler wins ruling dismissing most of child sexual assault lawsuit

Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler wins ruling dismissing most of child sexual assault lawsuit

Get the inside track from Roisin O’Connor with our free weekly music newsletter Now Hear This Get our free music newsletter Now Hear This Get our free music newsletter Now Hear This A judge has dismissed the majority of a child sexual assault lawsuit filed against Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler because the statute of limitations has passed. That ruling applies in Massachusetts, where Tyler and Julia Misley, formerly Julia Holcomb, are supposed to have lived for the majority of their alleged three-year relationship. However, Misley will still be able to sue over one allegation, that she and Tyler had sex in a hotel and public hot tub during a visit to California in 1974 when she was 16 years old. California removed time limits for sexual assault cases in the wake of historic allegations against Bill Cosby. In a statement to Billboard, Tyler’s lawyer David Long-Daniels said: “This is a massive win for Steven Tyler. Today, the Court has dismissed with prejudice 99.9% of the claims against Mr. Tyler in this case. The court has …

Steven Soderbergh’s AI contradiction – Salon.com

Steven Soderbergh’s AI contradiction – Salon.com

Steven Soderbergh is a man of both expedience and innovation. In the last 15 months, he’s had three films in theaters — “Presence,” “Black Bag” and now, “The Christophers” — all with their own unique directorial style and individual ambitions. “Presence” was a ghost story about teenage loneliness, filmed from the perspective of a spirit haunting the house a grieving family has just moved into. “Black Bag” tore up spy movie conventions with its emphasis on fidelity in the field, becoming one of the genre’s most scintillating new films in years. And with “The Christophers,” Soderbergh unhurriedly wades through the art world with a sweet tale of a fading painter, Julian Sklar (Ian McKellen), and his new assistant, Lori (Michaela Coel), who’s been covertly hired by Julian’s children to finish (aka forge) the last of his most beloved series of portraits. Throughout the film, the question of what gives art its value appears in several forms, challenged by Lori and Julian when their initially stilted working relationship transforms into something more intimate. As they grow …

Steven Spielberg Debuts First Look at Movie’s Alien

Steven Spielberg Debuts First Look at Movie’s Alien

Steven Spielberg took the stage at CinemaCon for the first time in his career to promote his upcoming Universal release, Disclosure Day. After an introduction from star Colman Domingo, the filmmaker received rapturous applause from the annual convention of movie theater owners in Las Vegas on Wednesday. Spielberg accepted the Motion Picture Association’s America250 Award from the group’s chair, Charles Rivkin, in celebration of the director’s work that embraces the nation’s wonders. “I haven’t done a Western yet — that’s next,” the 79-year-old director said. He noted that his first CinemaCon stage appearance had been great: “This will not be my last, I promise.” He recalled his transformative first visit to the cinema: “Nothing could compete with sitting in the first three rows of a movie palace, watching a Cecil B. DeMille epic with color by Technicolor. Nothing would ever be the same.” Spielberg admitted, “Sometimes, it feels to me like a cage fight between the small screen and the big screen.” He noted that the theatergoing experience was “clobbered” by COVID but added, “There …

Steven Soderbergh’s ‘The Christophers’ Pulls Off an Emotional Heist

Steven Soderbergh’s ‘The Christophers’ Pulls Off an Emotional Heist

Julian Sklar spends most of his workday performing on camera. Not for anyone important; the cantankerous artist (played by Ian McKellen), the protagonist of Steven Soderbergh’s new movie, The Christophers, is recording jokey Cameos for eager fans. Facing a ring-lit iPhone, he rambles about his fading career with chipper bumptiousness. Julian, the viewer quickly learns, is guarding a series of unfinished masterpieces in his house that he refuses to complete or sell, and his greedy children want their hands on his stash either way. His kids have thus concocted a scheme: Hire someone to work as their father’s assistant, secretly finish the paintings under his nose, and make a profit. This being a Soderbergh movie, one might hear that premise and expect a caper—he directed Ocean’s Eleven (and two of its sequels), after all. He’s a master of the heist movie, and what Sklar’s useless kids, Barnaby (James Corden) and Sallie (Jessica Gunning), are engineering is a whimsical, intimate theft. They bring in an unheralded artist named Lori Butler (Michaela Coel), who says she can …

’80s action star, Steven Seagal, 74, still looks incredibly youthful

Steven Seagal has long been one of Hollywood’s most recognisable action stars, and as he celebrates his 74th birthday on Friday April 10, 2026 he still looks as youthful as ever. Rising to fame in the late 1980s, Steven quickly carved out a niche in the action genre with his distinctive martial arts style and commanding screen presence. His breakout role came in Above the Law, followed by a string of hits including Hard to Kill, Marked for Death and Under Siege, which cemented his status as a box office draw. © Getty ImagesAt 74, Steven still has an active and interesting life Unlike many of his contemporaries, Steven brought a background in aikido to his performances, having spent years in Japan where he became one of the first Westerners to operate an aikido dojo. That authenticity helped set him apart during the golden era of action films, alongside stars like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone. Away from the big screen, Steven’s life has been anything but conventional. He has been married four times, including …
