After a Bari Weiss makeover, “60 Minutes” makes its Sunday debut

The first edition of “60 Minutes” since CBS News editor in chief Bari Weiss initiated drastic changes to the venerable program made it to air Sunday. But the changes weren’t all that apparent on screen. The 59th season premiere was highly anticipated following months of turbulence behind the scenes. In Sunday Funday, L.A. people give us a play-by-play of their ideal Sunday around town. Find ideas and inspiration on where to go, what to eat and how to enjoy life on the weekends. “If I don’t keep up that routine, especially on a day like a Sunday, it quickly falls into no day feeling fun,” he says. “[The routine], which to some people is like, ‘Oh God, that looks like hell,’ is fun for me because it is fun for me to show up for myself.” Peck’s latest album, “Mule,” which details his sobriety journey, is out Friday. That same day, he’s headlining the Hollywood Bowl, one of his favorite venues in the city. Peck …

How to have the best Sunday in L.A., according to Jimmy Smits

Throughout his 40 years in Los Angeles, one piece of advice on where to live still rings true for Jimmy Smits, known for starring in “L.A. Law,” “NYPD Blue” and “Sons of Anarchy.” Long ago, producer Steven Bochco, who helped launch Smits’ TV career, encouraged the native New Yorker to stick around. In Sunday Funday, L.A. people give us a play-by-play of their ideal Sunday around town. Find ideas and inspiration on where to go, what to eat and how to enjoy life on the weekends. “He said, ‘I think you’re going to be working at Fox or around here for a while,’” Smits recalls. “‘Don’t be a schmuck. After nearly 2,700 responses, here’s what you told us. In case you missed the survey, the question read, “I was chatting with someone this week who said, ‘Cybercab is going to be one of the most prolific vehicles on the road. And the most transformative for society ever.’ What do you guys think: will Tesla’s Cybercab transform the way we get around, or will it be just another car?” The survey coincided with the re-unveiling of the Tesla Cybercab this week in Austin, Texas, where a limited number of invitation-only Tesla influencers were allowed to have the car take them for a spin (with varying degrees of success). As such, it shouldn’t be surprising that there were a lot of responses – what was surprising, however, was the pessimism. By the numbers Survey Sunday results; made with Gemini. To be clear, the question that got nearly two thirds of the votes …

Aries (March 21st–April 20th) Today feels like the moment you finally admit something isn’t worth the push anymore. You notice how much energy’s been spent trying to make a situation behave. Letting it go frees you faster than winning ever would. When effort keeps slipping, it’s time to change direction. Taurus (April 21st–May 21st) The day starts slowly, maybe with a delayed plan or a quiet house, and you realise that pace suits you. A simple choice around comfort or money settles your nerves. Nothing needs fixing. When life stops rushing you, clarity has room to arrive. Gemini (May 22nd–June 21st) You catch yourself halfway through explaining something and stop, realising fewer words say more today. One honest decision clears mental noise instantly. The mind relaxes when it’s no longer juggling options. Clarity comes when talking ends and listening begins. Cancer (June 22nd–July 23rd) A small moment, a look, a comment, or a memory shows you where you’ve been over-giving. You don’t feel upset, just done. Choosing emotional safety feels natural now. If it costs …
