This supernatural event was not only reported by a first century Jewish historian Josephus, but a Roman one as well. In his book, Jewish Wars, Josephus reported seeing angels and chariots in the sky over Jerusalem around 66 AD.  Josephus wrote: “Chariots and troops of soldiers in their armor were running among the clouds.” He even admitted that people would have a hard time believing his story, describing it as beyond belief, but he said others had seen it as well. But this story takes an interesting twist as a first century Roman historian, Tacitus, also wrote about this incident in his book, Histories:  “There had been seen hosts joining battle …

The best supernatural show on TV is on a platform you probably forgot you subscribed to

What is the nature of evil? What is the true function of religion? Can demonic entities floss? These are some of the questions explored over the course of four seasons in Evil, which started out on CBS before jumping over to Paramount+. So far as streaming services go, Paramount+ isn’t talked about as much as heavy-hitters like Netflix and HBO Max, sometimes with good reason. But whatever its drawbacks, it has a lot of good content, and Evil is one of its shiniest hidden gems. Evil is The X-Files of the 2020s And that’s a good thing In the 1990s, there was a show called The X-Files, about a conspiracy-minded FBI agent named Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) who teams up with a skeptical medical doctor named Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) to investigate possible extraterrestrial phenomena. While Mulder is eager to believe in extraterrestrial life, Scully is more apt to believe that everything they see has a rational explanation. It’s hard not to think of that dynamic when looking at Evil, which revolves a round a …

Jason Reitman to Produce Supernatural Thriller 71 Minutes

Jason Reitman to Produce Supernatural Thriller 71 Minutes

Coming out on top in a competitive situation, Sony Pictures has staked claim on 71 Minutes, an original spec script from Ian Shorr. Jason Reitman will produce the feature via his Ghost Corp banner along with the company’s Erica Mills. He is not attached to direct at this stage. While many of the details are being kept under the tombstones, the project is described as a real-time thriller about a man who needs to elude his pursuers in a ticking clock scenario and only has 71 minutes until the sun rises to do so. Shorr is known for his sci-fi work, penning the Antoine Fuqua-directed Paramount+ feature Infinite, which starred Mark Wahlberg and Chiwetel Ejiofor. The scribe is having a corona moment right now as this sale happens as his other script, currently untitled, is now shooting as a Warner Bros. production starring Keanu Reeves with Tim Miller at the helm. Shorr wrote 71 Minutes on spec, and the script immediately generated massive interest, with over 20 production companies , plus some studios, chasing the project, …

Meta’s Layoffs Leave Supernatural Fitness Users in Mourning

Meta’s Layoffs Leave Supernatural Fitness Users in Mourning

Tencia Benavidez, a Supernatural user who lives in New Mexico, started her VR workouts during the Covid pandemic. She has been a regular user in the five years since, calling the ability to work out in VR ideal, given that she lives in a rural area where it’s hard to get to a gym or work out outside during a brutal winter. She stuck with Supernatural because of the community and the eagerness of Supernatural’s coaches. “They seem like really authentic individuals that were not talking down to you,” Benavidez says. “There’s just something really special about those coaches.” Meta bought Supernatural in 2022, folding it into its then-heavily-invested-in metaverse efforts. The purchase was not a smooth process, as it triggered a lengthy legal battle in which the US Federal Trade Commission tried to block Meta from purchasing the service due to antitrust concerns about Meta “trying to buy its way to the top” of the VR market. Meta ultimately prevailed. At the time, some Supernatural users were cautiously optimistic, hoping that big bag of …

Bree Anne/unsplash.com “To console those who mourn in Zion,To give them beauty for ashes,The oil of joy for mourning,The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness…”—Isaiah 61:3 By Andrew Hopkins Praise is more than a song—it’s a supernatural weapon where God dwells. But tough times often try to steal our song and weigh us down. That’s when we rise up and declare God’s greatness in praise, and in doing so, experience His Presence and His power. In Isaiah 61:1-3, the prophet is prophesying of the Messiah, Jesus, who was to come. In fact, Jesus quoted verses 1-2 in Luke 4:18-19 saying that the scripture was fulfilled in Him. But in verse 3, Isaiah prophesied that Jesus would minister healing to the hurting, and the result would be praise. From Mourning to Praise In the ancient world, mourning was expressed outwardly—tearing clothes, putting on sackcloth, ashes on the head, and fasting. It was a visible reflection of inner brokenness. But Isaiah prophesied that Jesus would reverse this. He would give: Beauty for ashes – dignity …
