Madison Square Garden owner James Dolan has insisted that the face-recognition system and array of surveillance cameras deployed at his venues is “very, very useful for security”—a big reason why MSG “is the most secure venue in the country.” On the night of July 2, security in and around the Garden was particularly intense. Roughly 130 cops were deployed to the area. New York City officials were preparing to shut down the surrounding blocks to both vehicles and pedestrians the next day for a major, major event. July 2 was, of course, the kickoff to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding celebration, an approximately 100-person rehearsal dinner at Madison Square Garden’s Infosys Theater. And yet, on that extremely sensitive evening, Dolan’s MSG locked nearly all of its security team out of the network of surveillance cameras inside the arena, according to an internal document reviewed by WIRED. The lettuce supplier at the center of the turbo diarrhea outbreak has spent millions of dollars to sway sentiment around food regulation and elect Donald Trump and other MAGA Republicans, according to public filings. Taylor Farms donated more than $2 million to conservative political groups in 2025, according to Federal Election Commission filings. That includes a $1 million donation to MAGA Inc., the Trump-centric super PAC, and $1.1 million to other super PACs dedicated to electing Republicans. From 2020 through the end of 2024, the company donated more than $1.6 million to conservative PACs, including a total of $850,000 to AFP Action, an anti-regulation super PAC with ties to the Koch network. Bruce Taylor, the chairman and CEO of Taylor Farms, is also a longtime donor to Republican causes. Since 2020, Taylor has personally donated more than $900,000 to Republican PACs and candidates, including contributions to Texas senator John Cornyn and Tennessee senator Marsha Blackburn. Taylor Farms continues to be the subject of a Food and Drug Administration investigation into the growing cyclosporiasis outbreak, despite a false positive test result, the agency said Monday. Late Sunday, the FDA said that a lettuce sample from the company had falsely tested positive for cyclospora, the parasite that causes the illness. That sample, however, did not come from lettuce already implicated in the outbreak and recall. Instead, it came from a separate shipment the agency collected during routine import inspections. “To clarify, this false-positive lab sample DOES NOT change the basis for FDA’s ongoing outbreak investigation or the overwhelming epidemiological data supporting the current voluntary recall by Taylor Farms,” the FDA said Monday on X. The company’s voluntary recall of shredded iceberg lettuce to 27 states is still in effect. Paramount and Activision’s upcoming Call of Duty movie will be set in the Modern Warfare universe. Director and co-writer Peter Berg announced the news Saturday during Fanatics Fest in New York City, confirming that the film will adapt the franchise’s most popular and recognizable subseries. Taylor Sheridan, the creator of Landman, the Yellowstone universe, Lioness and more, is co-writing the screenplay for the studio alongside Berg, whose directing credits include Friday Night Lights, Battleship, Lone Survivor and Deepwater Horizon. Sheridan, Berg and David Glasser of 101 Studios are also producing. During its CinemaCon presentation in April, it was revealed that the planned theatrical release date was slated for June 30, 2028.
