Turning Point USA was co-founded by Charlie Kirk and its fundraising apparatus since his death has centered around fading MAGA fantasies that he will be a movement-reviving martyr. So it was a little surprising that one of the speakers at TPUSA’s Women’s Leadership Summit in San Antonio, Texas, Alex Clark, spoke about how Kirk made her feel bad about herself. Speaking last weekend to a crowd of largely high school and college-aged attendees, the host TPUSA’s “Culture Apothecary” remembered the cruelty of Kirk’s talk at last year’s summit, in which he shamed women who aren’t married by 30, suggesting they are old maids who likely would never find a husband. “I was sitting in the audience and it stung a little bit,” Clark, 33, confessed. “I was sitting there as a woman in her 30s who very much wanted marriage. SAN ANTONIO (RNS) — For many of the 3,000 women gathered at Turning Point USA’s Women’s Leadership Summit in San Antonio this weekend (June 5-7), feminism isn’t just an unsavory byproduct of the radical left — it’s antithetical to God’s design for women. “At its core, feminism is a worldview that treats many of the things that make women uniquely women as obstacles to overcome, rather than divine gifts to embrace,” said Erika Kirk, CEO of Turning Point USA and widow of TPUSA founder Charlie Kirk, in her opening speech Friday night. “I believe wholeheartedly that you can’t force revival,” Lucas Miles declares in his stump speech for the Make Heaven Crowded tour. Miles is the director of TPUSA Faith, a spinoff of the late MAGA influencer Charlie Kirk’s Turning Point USA organization, that is dedicated to equipping Christians “who are prepared to defend our God-given rights.” And he’s been on the road this spring and summer, insisting to one audience after another that he does not believe you can “manufacture a revival.” The irony of this is thick — manufacturing a revival is exactly what Miles is trying to do. The Make Heaven Crowded tour, Miles explains to congregations and the press along the way, was started after a late September memorial service for Kirk, who was killed by a gunman’s bullet earlier that month.
