CMA to Pay Tribute to Dolly Parton With Live Two-Hour Special on ABC

The Country Music Association (CMA) revealed on Wednesday that it’s producing a live two-hour special to pay tribute to Dolly Parton, who died last month at age 80. The special, titled CMA Presents I Will Always Love You: A Celebration of Dolly Parton, “will be a joyful, emotional celebration of the artist, songwriter, entertainer, humanitarian and entrepreneur whose music and generosity carried her from the mountains of east Tennessee into the hearts of generations around the world, told through performances, archival footage and personal stories that trace her extraordinary journey to becoming one of the most beloved entertainers and philanthropists in American history,” a press release stated. Robert Deaton will executive produce the special. “Dolly gave country music its heart, and giving some of that heart back to her is an incredible honor,” he said in a statement. “My hope is simply that we do right by her story, her music and the people who love her, so that this evening feels like the tribute my friend deserves.” Sarah Trahern, CMA CEO, added in her …

The stars of Charlie’s Angels reconvened at the 2026 Emmys, where they paid homage to the late Farrah Fawcett. Kate Jackson, Cheryl Ladd and Jaclyn Smith were onsite to celebrate the show’s 50th anniversary, and present the Emmy for best drama series, which ultimately went to The Pitt. “It’s an honor to be here tonight to present the Emmy for drama series and to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Charlie’s Angels,” Jackson began, before Smith paid tribute to Fawcett. “I would like to acknowledge someone not standing with us tonight, and that’s my friend Farrah Fawcett. On Tuesday morning, Meghan took to her official Instagram account to share a new reel of her husband. The clip showed various pictures of the duke, some of which featured their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. (RNS) — Celebrities, fellow pastors and his Dallas megachurch’s next-generation leaders celebrated Bishop T.D. Jakes’ 50th anniversary of ministry during a service Sunday (Sept. 13), as he thanked his congregation and family for their support during a tenure in which he “dared to be talked about.”  “We can imagine, but we don’t know how much it cost you to let your light shine,” Pastor Touré Roberts told Jakes, his father-in-law, in front of the congregation. “But you did it. You dared to be different. You dared to be talked about. You dared to be ostracized. She was presenting Seth Rogen with the final prize of the eighth annual Toronto Film Festival Tribute Awards, held at the Fairmont Royal York. The ceremony has grown since its inception in 2019, when Meryl Streep, Joaquin Phoenix (who won an Oscar the following year for Joker), and Taika Waititi (who also won an Oscar for Jojo Rabbit) served as inaugural honorees; this year it recognized 10 industry heavyweights, including Rogen, Isabelle Huppert, and Helen Mirren. With more awards inevitably comes filler. But the program moved briskly, and the speeches ranged from heartfelt to funny, if not both. Canadian comedy actor, producer and writer Seth Rogen on Sunday night declared it “ominous” to receive a career achievement award from the Toronto Film Festival at 44 years of age. “Does TIFF know something I don’t know? You got a letter from my doctors?” he questioned while on stage at the Royal York Hotel in Toronto. Rogen received a Career Achievement honor at the Tribute Awards at TIFF while in town to tout two movies — Babies, directed by his wife Lauren Miller Rogen, and Tangles, an animated film which Rogen and Miller Rogen produced. Rogen thanked his wife for allowing him to piggy back on her success in bringing her film to TIFF in which he stars alongside Anna Kendrick. “Thank you all, you can go home now,” he finished off. Reba McEntire has been tapped to perform a special tribute to the late Dolly Parton during the 2026 Emmy Awards on Monday night, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. The Grammy winner is expected to sing a song by the Queen of Country Music, who died last month at age 80 after a brief battle with cancer. In addition to McEntire’s performance, New York Knicks point guard Jalen Brunson is also expected to make a guest appearance during a pre-taped segment at the beginning of the telecast. It’s no secret that host Mariska Hargitay is a longtime Knicks fan, regularly spotted sitting courtside at games at Madison Square Garden. However, when THR caught up with Hargitay ahead of the ceremony, she wouldn’t confirm whether Brunson would make a special appearance. “Not sure, but maybe OG will come flying in with 1.2 seconds left,” Hargitay said at the time. The Princess of Wales wore a necklace with a very special connection to her daughter, Princess Charlotte, for a poignant outing in London on Friday.  Princess Kate paid a visit to Royal Marsden Hospital, where she underwent her chemotherapy treatment in 2024, on 11 September and met with cancer patients. The royal, who looked lovely in a green Suzannah London dress with her hair glamorously curled, kept her daughter close to her heart for the day with a gorgeous diamond neckline that she wore for Charlotte’s christening in 2015.  Kate wore the 18-carat white gold ‘Empress’ necklace by luxury jeweller Mappin & Webb, which features a diamond pendant on a delicate chain and retails for £2,250.
