Sun cream banned from sale in UK as shoppers warned it is ‘high risk’ | UK | News

Shoppers have been warned that a popular brand of sun cream has been rejected at the UK border. It poses a “high risk” as the Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) issued a message. The OPSS has declared the item is “high risk” due to its labelling information. The Bubble Cosmetics Sunscreen Pack has come from the United States and was rejected at the UK border; therefore, it cannot be sold to UK customers. The brand is sold in a range of UK retailers, including Boots and ASOS, as well as on its own website. The affected product is a yellow cardboard box that is filled with a range of Bubble sun cream items. The OPSS said: “The product presents a risk due to inadequate labelling and traceability information. “Multiple mandatory cosmetic labelling requirements have not been met, including omissions relating to sunscreen use instructions and product traceability. “As a result, consumers may not have sufficient information to use the product appropriately, and effective regulatory traceability is impaired.” It added: “The product does not …

It’s now even easier to find—and exploit—vulnerabilities in computer systems using AI. Last Friday, the Chinese AI company Z.ai announced a powerful open-weight model that it says is capable of automating cutting-edge coding and cybersecurity tasks almost as well as the best publicly available models from Anthropic and OpenAI. The new model, GLM 5.3, could be a gift for companies looking to secure their systems against attacks, providing a cheaper way to scan for hidden bugs and other weaknesses. Open-weight—or free-to-download—models can be run on one’s own hardware and are often significantly less costly than closed models like Claude and GPT. Alongside the new model, Z.ai released OpenVuln, a service for scanning code repositories for vulnerabilities using GLM 5.3. For now, the new model is in a limited release with trusted partners, but it shows how quickly open-weight models are gaining superhuman hacking skills. HBO Max has warned Harry Potter fans not to travel to King’s Cross station for this year’s Back to Hogwarts celebration, while unveiling a new location for the 2026 celebration. The annual event typically takes place on September 1st at the London station that JK Rowling wrote about in her novel series, with fans congregating at the fictional 9 ¾ to count down the departure of the Hogwarts Express. But this year, fans will be able to celebrate the tradition at Old Billingsgate in London as part of a “one-day celebration packed with surprises, photo opportunities and exclusive giveaways offering a glimpse into the upcoming series”. The one-day fan event will also include interactive moments and giveaways inspired by the upcoming TV show, HBO Max have teased. Tickets for the experience are free and required for entry.
